Dead Rising 2

After a pretty pleasant prologue that was however not necessary to understand the storyline, Dead Rising 2 and the Xbox 360 are getting a true epilogue to the main adventure. The beginning of this exclusive stand alone directly follows the A ending of the game and it celebrates the return of Franck West, the hero of the first episode. The co-op mode now makes more sense as the second player does not play as a clone to Chuck Green anymore, but as a Dan Aykroyd look-alike. After a prologue entitled Case Zero, Dead Rising 2 is about to get an epilogue starring the hero of the first game, Franck West. This new content will be available on December 27 on Xbox Live exclusively.

Capcom has sent some new images of its upcoming DLC for Dead Rising 2, Case West. As you probably already know, this content will mark the return of Frank West from the first Dead Rising game.
It will be available this month exclusively on Xbox 360.

Capcom has announced 4 thematic packs for Dead Rising 2: the 'Psychopath' theme pack will be out on October 12th, the 'Soldier of Fortune' theme pack on October 19th, the 'Sports' theme pack on October 26th and finally the 'Ninja' theme pack will be available on November 2nd. In addition to the new costumes and new weapons it brings, those DLC will increase some of Chuck's abilities. You could also mix elements from each pack to create the ultimate zombie killer! After four years of a long wait, we are finally given a sequel to Dead Rising. While other franchises are released on a very regular basis, people had to be very patient to be able to play Dead Rising 2. The hardcore fans had a sneak peak at the game a little while ago when Case Zero hit Xbox Live, but it is truly today, on September 24, that everyone will be able to jump into what really is a homage to the George Romero movies. Dead Rising 2 will be released in Europe tomorrow and for once, North America will have to wait a little more until October 1. Friday at midnight GMT (so well, Saturday then), you will be able to discover our full review, but until then, here is the official launch trailer of the game.

After the huge success of Dead Rising 2's prologue sold at a price of 400 Microsoft points on Xbox Live, is it really a surprise to find out that there will also be an epilogue to download? No need to be a mind reader to imagine all the negative reactions that are going to follow such an announcement. To be fair, even if the price is still reasonable, it will be hard to blame those who are not happy about it.

The release of Dead Rising 2 is getting close and the good news is that we should be able to review the game in time for September 24. In the meantime, here are a few pictures presenting the Ninja Theme Pack, a DLC that will be offered to anyone who preorders the game. Included, a new Ninja Outfit for Chuck and new abilities with certain weapons. Chuck will also have new and more powerful sword attacks when using this Ninja suit.

Capcom released nothing less than four developer diaries about Dead Rising 2, each putting the spotlight on a different big feature of the game.
