The demo of Kane & Lynch: Dog Days is available as of today exclusively on Xbox Live, provided you were sent a precious code to download it. There is some very interesting content as you can try a bit of the campaign mode, a mission of the Arcade mode and you can even get your hands on three of the multiplayer modes (Fragile Alliance, Undercover Cop and Cops & Robbers). Generous as we are, we would not want you to miss the opportunity to see the game in action so here are a few videos of this exclusive demo. We'll start with the introduction movie and the first part of the demo section of the single player mode played in the hardest difficulty setting. Enjoy! Update: Second part added.
Kane & Lynch: Dog Days' visuals may not have been impressive when looking at screenshots, but it definitely is when you see it moving. The game has this creepy realistic look to it that is even disturbing sometimes. Don't look for Crytek-like extra-HD textures everywhere as you won't find much of them but, despite that, I find the way Io Interactive nailed the surveillance camera look quite stunning. Not only is it unique but it also adds a lot to the immersion, making this sequel even more atmospheric, which was the previous episode's main strength.
Gameplay-wise, this demo should reassure those who found the cover system of Kane & Lynch: Dead Men horrible. It is now fully functional and the aiming also feels a bit smoother and more precise than before. Moving around is then much more pleasant, whether you're running down an alley or sliding from cover to cover. Not everything is perfect though, the AI seems rather weak for now, the animations of the NPCs still look a bit dated, and there are also a few framerate issues that are all the more noticeable as the game runs very smoothly the rest of the time. That being said, let's keep in mind that it is only a demo version and that the developers still have a lot of time to fix most of these issues before the game ships in late August.
Posted by Jato I don't care what anyone thinks, but this games visuals are the best I've seen to date...so damn awesome!
From a pure style and presentation level (not technical) I agree it is one of the best. The game looks like nothing more than dog shit when in screens, which is an even further testament to the visual effects being used.
Going to DL the demo now, hope it plays as good as what I have heard.

I agree the art style is unique and works great...most of the time. I've played the demo a couple of times now, and though the 'camera filter' is great, sometimes you can really see how bad the textures and geometries are. This breaks the illusion sometimes. Not a game breaker by any means.
I've already pre-ordered this games 2 months ago, and the demo did not change my mind.
A big high five to the art director and the Io Interactive devs. This game looks like no other. Hopefully they iron out some of the gameplay kinks before release. I had no interest in the first K&L but this one is very high on my games to buy radar.
Posted by Anvil Amateur movies are mainly shoot with a too high framerate, so it just fits perfect to the style of the game.
...what? There are very, very few consumer level cameras that shoot more than 30fps - especially at HD resolutions - and the ones that exist are very, very expensive.

Ever watched one of this old ultra cheap TV productions (soap operas etc.)? This is where it happens the most.
Oh and I wasn't mentioning that the amateurs had HD cameras.

Page 1 2 >>I have to say, Impressive Camera work! (loving the shaky hand camera thing) but I fear it will make me dizzy after a while!

And how does one go by getting said code emailed to them?
Thanks. 60fps is amazing! I love games with 60 fps :)

Would have been cooler if they ran the game at 29.97FPS.

Is this demo going to be available for everyone eventually? I really, really want to try it; it looks fantastic.
