Next Gen :D
Never judge a game too harshly via screenshots or videos, because they are in no way capable of properly representing what the game truly looks like were you to see it running in front of you on a 360
Anyways, the graphics are very PGR3-ish, you can clearly see this from the city video.
But MotoGP is all about gameplay and to be honest, the game became a noob fest in MotoGP3, but it all started with MotoGP2.
The first GP was very sim-like, I loved it and I bought of course, then in GP2 , they were a little bit more forgiving, I disliked that but the main reason I never bought it was because it was basically a rehash with some slight improvements. GP3 had incredible graphics, yet the gameplay was just too much for me, it became really cheap, extremely accessible, a noob fest.
GP2006 is like a combination of what happened with GP2 and GP3. The game is somewhat of a rehash to GP3. Yes the graphics are totally upgraded.......totally? Aside from image quality, aside from what we see, I don't see any improvements anywhere. The falling animations are the same, the physics are the same, and really nothing happens. By this I mean something should happen to the bike, more damage at least if they, for some reason can't/don't want to do physical damage to the bike, the bike should be all scratched as well as the driver's suit and especially the helmet. Another thing is that when you hit another bike at very high speeds, I'm not seeing good reactions at all, it should result in a big crash.
Something else has to happen, because aside from the very nice visuals, I was watching GP3 videos. Again, the animations, all the animations are the same. And I can't help but to think what they'll do for a real full next generation MotoGP game, because even Climax is taking this game as a 3.5, not the full step, hence the reason is called 2006 (I guess of course, just guess).
It also seems like they didn't bother with 3D spectators, and that's not acceptable anymore IMO.
I would like to play a demo for this and then decide, because I really do need a MotoGP game from THQ/Climax (NOT NAMCO). So i'm not entirely convinced about this game.
