Gotta Respect NBA 2k7's attention to detail!

The game is focused on details. Little things like making the gamer feel like they're always on the court, not having to go to a pause menu to make substitutions and even seeing players get up off of the bench during your game and sitting down under the scorer's table. Little things like bringing the camera closer to the action without losing the view of the court. Little things like rewriting the passing system to actually allow users the ability to throw chest or bounce passes on demand. Little things like making defenders smarter, adding more deflected passes, at the same time opening up the loose ball game and finally getting dives on the floor just right.

I know this probably isn't exactly some demonstration of next gen consoles power, but guys this is what next gen is all about little details such as this. Its little details like this that most people never ask about, but when they see them happen they think "oh shit thats nice!"

I love it man! I was a major fan of the 2k basketball series back on the dreamcast and now I'm finally going to get back into it with this new addition to the series.

How can you fuck up your game in just under a year? 2K games has the answer. Player likeness is off, WAY OFF, even the past gen games had better player likeness, this is just terrible. I was going to buy this game, but seeing as how they didn't even bother to include real life players (don't argue), I'm not buying it.

I could care less right now about some of the likenesses. A bit bummed that they didn't get them to look better, but thats a very small part of what attracts me to this game. I'm all over this game it has my money!

The next NBA Live has the potential to be something really special if they work on it, but personally I've always liked the 2k series better.

Speaking of detail and realism, NBA 2K7 takes it to a whole other level. Nash licks his fingers and brushes his hair behind his ear. He brushes his hair! 2K Sports is working on little details like this for every starter in the Association, and I can't wait to see where they take the franchise.

Jon from ign gave nba 2k7 #3 game at E3 which is kinda crazy, but the game will be extremely good man ;)

I will give this the benefit of the doubt, simply because I really haven't seen much. One thing though, who cares if he does things Nash does, he doesn't look like Nash one bit, and then Yao Ming looks like a total retard (I never use that word BTW), that's how he looks, so i'm not happy about that at all.

But I hope for the best because I really want a next gen BBall game.

ima big 2k fan, but i have to admit it doesnt really look like nash. But with that aside it still looks hella good, and i just saw the gameplay footage on Gametrailers and it pretty much look like a live broadcast. Now 8 to 8 after 1st quarter is kind of wtf... and they seem to miss and get the ball stolen alot, but im pretty sure they will work out those kinks. Now i saw the live 07 presentation, and the whole free movement sounds cool, but i mean come on Tmac in that game looked nothign like Tmac. The same can be said for Wade, i mean i thought i was the only one that realized that. I still think ima get 2k7 over Live 07 just cuz Live been sukin major balls lately, i mean live 05 was just wow...most unrealistic bball game i have ever played. NBA Jam was better :)

Well, there's no need to question what you should get, anyone wanting a more sim-style NBA game should not even think about getting Live, the 2K series have always been superior. The 8 to 8 after the first quarter has to do with the time the quarter is set to, perhaps just a couple of minutes, who knows. Let's keep in mind it was just a demo, not something to play all day.

And I'll say it again, player likeness is down right horrible for some players and average for others--Kobe and Shaq.

Well, there's no need to question what you should get, anyone wanting a more sim-style NBA game should not even think about getting Live, the 2K series have always been superior.  The 8 to 8 after the first quarter has to do with the time the quarter is set to, perhaps just a couple of minutes, who knows.  Let's keep in mind it was just a demo, not something to play all day.

Yea always had live beat in terms of real basketball.

Live is a game that is more concerned with showing off fancy dribbling and dunks than delivering the best possible basketball game. That fancy dribbling gets alot of people usually, but the real gamers know the sk series is top dog. I was unbeatable in nba 2k1? Forgot which one for the dreamcast.

yea lol it was 2k1. That was the F in shiet. I use to love the swat block they had it that game, but then later they took it out:( iono why.

To me it seems Live is the version that you would mostly play with friends, or probably the version most of them will have. Most of all my friends have the Live series, and mostly play that one. Just mainly for the showmanship it brings, all the flashyness and what not. I bought both 2k6 and Live 06 for my 360. I play both equally, but if i had to compare it would def say 2k6 is better in the realistic department. But Live is alot more fun to play with friends for me. I would play them more now, but the online play is shiet for me. Always laggy....cant tell how many times i went up for slam with Wade and stayed there for like 13secs :( I hope they get the online mode better and more stable or maybe its just crappy for me lol. I mean my other games play fine online, just 2k6 and live 06 give me problems.

And i hope yall are right about the whole low scoring quarter due to mins and wut not. 2k series has yet to let me down, so we should have a solid bball game when it releases.
