Though it must be said that the news is not yet official, the message was pretty clear when Gamespy in a recent interview asked Wright if Spore was still PC only.
“Well, actually we are going to go on all platforms, but we will come out on PC first. We will even come out on cell phones and stuff. One of the things in the game is that as you go around and encounter things… creatures and plants, or whatever, you make trading cards of each thing. That is the metaphor for the database -- trading cards. So you can collect your cards. You can print them out. You can now play your own card game. That might be like the cell phone part. That stuff is so light. It's more about collectability as opposed to interaction. Every creature in the PC game is three or four megabytes. But the cards, that is the database that the player is building."
So if Will Wright’s own words is anything to go by, and I don’t see how it is not, Spore is definitely heading for next-gen consoles including the Xbox 360.

WW: I would put Peter Molyneux and Sid Meier at the top of the list. There were some people who I think would have been up there except they kind of took weird turns. Alex Garden… Of all the odd things, he went off and started a company that sells automated parking systems.
GameSpy: What about John Carmack?
WW: I don't think of him as a game designer. He is a technologist. He is the best in the world at what he does… by far.
I respect the Bioware guys a lot. Peter Molyneux and I almost merged our companies quite a few years ago. Bullfrog and Maxis came really close to merging.
Carmack, Peter Molyneux, and the Bioware guys.
Now that Peter Molyneux has the funding he's always needed to realize those ideas of his we'll be in for a treat.

Which is a good thing.
Don't touch that Squirrels nuts!
I'm eager to find out what peter Molyneux has planned for the fable 2.

I hated seeing the little devils die.
But I agree no way will this be as cute or even as good (will wait and see before I get flamed with in an inch of my life)

That's really interesting to hear Will say that about Molyneux though. Ever since Black & White 1&2, Fable and The Movies have been let downs, I've begun to think of Molyneux as a bargain price Will Wright. That said, I loved playing Populous back in the day.

I agree with the control concerns graf1k; EA has supposidly had some success porting BFME2 though..perhaps they'll do well here too. Spores interface is already suprisingly intuitive..could happen. Don't agree 'bout Lionhead--I think they get too much hate and that they're a good developer personally--I actually like every game you've listed there..not all of them are masterpieces by any means..but personally I think they're all pretty decent games..some better than others.
