Those of you into your 360 Marketplace serial downloading during E3 06 would more than likely have stuffed the Test Drive: Unlimited demo on your hard-drive along with everything else you had in sight. Since that demo was a early version of the game it comes no surprise that a new demo will be hitting the marketplace soon. That date you ask?
Well there is no final date. Just a target one according to an Atari staff member over at their European Forums.
The 20th of August is the rough estimate, which is just 1 or 2 weeks before the release of the full game. So we're assuming it'll be from a final version of the game. What the demo contains remains a mystery but no doubt it will be different to the E3 06 demo.

I'm going to be looking for this one. I think TDU has some great ideas..but I'm not convinced that it's well executed at all.
I'll try the demo and see if they have improved gameplay, doubtful but I'll try it.

Anytime away from a game that is still in development is a bad thing. This is especially true for big titles like Halo 3, Fable 2, MGS4 and many others. Plus as you should know developers releasing or showing early versions of their games can be I remember you being very disappointed with the unfinished demo build of the game and me being extremely disappointed with too human at E3. Wouldn't you prefer to wait till after the game is out and get an actual demo that is representative of the final product rather than a crappy mess of a demo?

But they most have done something other than adding the HDR in the meantime if they think it's worth another demo?!
Anyway, we'll see how it turns out, and this time no 15 min time limit please!
There it is: next-gen!

Anyway, I do hope they can equal the PGR3 physics, which isn't very realistic according to many people (although it's the most realistic I've ever encountered), but it just handles so perfect, I absolutely love it!
TDU already took over the ever so brilliant cockpit view, so if they can get those car physics tuned properly, I'm in...

PGR3 physics the best? The best on next gen systems? Games like Forza 1 had better physics, way better actually. There's very little suspension work on PGR3 among other things, but it's perfectly fine for an arcade racer.

there are cars in it?
TDU is not and definitely is not intended to be a sim racer.

But what did it for me with PGR3 , especially in cockpit view, is when you are driving and you drift around the corner, you can practically feel the rear end breaking out, and when you accelerate it actually really feels like accelerating.
I dunno, maybe it's the cockpit view that makes up a lot here, but calling it an arcade racer is a bit off, imo, Ridge racer, that's arcade physics...

the way the cars controlled in pgr3 was not realistic, it was fun. It wasn't totally faked to the point where you feel like you're driving a box w/ no suspension (TDU demo at it's worst), but it wasn't realistic, get in those cars and drive like that, you'll hit a wall every time.
But it's the most realistic driving I've ever encountered in a driving game before...

But yeah, I heard GTR is supposed to be the most realistic driving game and I've indeed never played the game, and I've never heard of Live for Speed.
To add to that, I don't play any pc-games at all, cause I have a retarded GPU.
I'll give Forza 1 another shot, see how that compares to PGR3...

I would say that, going by the definition of "making a turn at xxx speed, pressing the brake the car would react this way" pgr3 is not a sim. If you think thats how cars drive, get in your RWD car and try drifting some time. it's a bit more difficult than PGR would make it seem. but if it were that diffcult in the game most people wouldn't play it.
