Madden 2007 coming shortly

This part caught my eye:

Not only does Madden 07 feature better overall gameplay, but it also manages to pack much more content onto the DVD; though it still falls a bit short of its Xbox counterpart.

So even in year #2 they still have fewer features than the last gen consoles :/

Sounds like a great release of Madden with a lot of stuff ironed out. Allowing others to play you in SP Franchise is cool, and the emphasis on running and blocking is much needed. Still little ESPN integration it seems and the general principle of precanned animation routines for group tackles and what not is very N64/PS1 gen. Something like Euphoria would be nice. This summerizes it well:

From what we can tell by our relatively brief play time with the final build of Madden 07, it appears that this year’s game is shaping to be what last year’s should have been.

Now if they will add self shadowing and a new animation system...

Sorry but I think Madden is 100% crap. Who would have thought that taking sega out of the business would have hurt football games, to all you nay sayers. I dont even know why im posting this, I hate sport games. I say stop playing a simulation while you can go out there and actually do it.

It's a shame Visual Concepts can no longer make NFL games. NFL 2K5 was lightyears ahead of Madden, imo. Such a fun game. :)

I only wish Visual Concepts would help develop their NHL series now instead of letting Kush do it all alone. Their NBA game looks fantastic and with EA coming out with a totally revamped NHL game I think Kush would benefit by getting help from Visual Concepts. The NHL 2Kx series has had better gameplay than EA, imo.... but could you imagine it though if VC got their hands on it? I'd be in hockey heaven! :D
