F.E.A.R.'s multiplayer is fun and has some excellent options for tweaking the game, but it has a serious hiccup in the lobby. That being the lack of a post-game lobby. As soon as you finish a game, you'll be kicked back out to the menu screen without so much as a chance to say goodbye. This happens even on unranked matches where you are presumably playing with friends making it more than a little frustrating to get into an extended online session with some buddies. When asked about any plans to update this, we were told that none were in the pipeline as of yet.
This is a clan killer for sure. This one will be skipped by me and the rest of my clan. I will rent it via gamefly but this is unacceptable for an Xbox 360 game. Last gen maybe, but once a game like Halo2 and its excellent lobby system comes out last gen 2 years ago, almost anything less is almost unacceptable. This game could have been a clan favorite and a great alternative to Rainbow Six3, COD3, and GOW, but they have just buried their game with this glaring fault.

Sounds like it has an excellent single player if you haven't played the PC version. Multiplayer... nope.
incomprehensible.
Ignorance is the true enemy of all things.

No game is perfect, especially portware.
Besides how many people are really going to buy this game, considering GoW is just round the corner.
I want Blue Dragon more than Optimus .... mwah ha ha ha ha ha..
Marumaro for the WIN !!
While F.E.A.R.'s multiplayer action is enjoyable, it's not going to make you forget about games like GRAW or Call of Duty 2 (or even Halo 2 for that matter). It feature a lot of customization options, such as the ability to restrict kits or set winning conditions. You can also change the speed at which players move, which actually changes the style of play quite a bit. It's a shame, then, that the experience is hampered by the fact that you don't have a post-match lobby. Finishing a multiplayer match (even with your friends) will kick you out into the multiplayer menu screen. It's a bit odd, and it makes it tough to get an extended experience going. Hopefully this is something that can be fixed with an update over Xbox Live, but it doesn't make us any happier.

Summary:
With its intense gunplay and entertaining SlowMo mechanic, it's impossible not to have a good time with this one.
The lighting engine is absolutely amazing, and while the environments could use a bit more variety, filling them full of holes doesn't get old.
If you're easily scared by things that go bump in the night, you should probably stay away from this one.
The multiplayer mode leaves a lot to be desired and the single-player game is a bit on the short side. The Instant Action mode will be the only reason to come back for more.
Although it was implemented well, we can't help but feel like the whole "bullet-time" thing has been overused.
Sakagauchi-san is the best developer! :)
Lost odyssey is my most wanted game.
