It wouldn't surprise me either, I do hope it's not exclusive to Wii though, a PS3, or at least PS2 version would be nice.

Wouldn't surprise me either, but a huge shame as it could have look really nice on the PS3. (720p / high polygon models etc)

No he never said on what console he would release it, but the ps3 was what everyone would think...it woul have made sense...but you never know with Square-enix.

Well I woulden't mind, I canceled my ps3 order and ordered a Wii instead with Naruto ( will have to wait a month for that game though).
Every game I wanted to buy on the ps3 gets released on the 360 to, so there's no point in buying until final fantasy gets released.

It doesnt say it's only comin out for Wii. It may very well come out for both. Doesnt seem like square to take a franchise from one console to another completely, and leave the other by the way side. Plus this is just a rumor. I'm not worried in the least.

Actually it's very much like Square and Enix to do that, what do you think they both did to the N64.

Infact SE have already taken Dragon Quest to the DS and Wii. (one of if not the biggest selling franchise in Japan)

DQ or KH ?

DQ9 will sell a shit load more on DS than on PS3.

Same with Wii, production is higher on the Wii meaning a potenially larger install base and bigger sales.

DQ9, people were complaining that it's now an action game and not a "proper" action game. The Wii version is a childish spin-off though, looks very gimmicky imo.

Well yea it was a risk changing to a real time battle engine, but then everywhere i look these days people are complaining about turn based games, people need to make their minds up.

The Wii version looks very good from what i have seen.

DQ is supposed to be childish anyway.

Square-enix did it before with Final Fantasy, They also said they didn't want Sony to be the big winner. It just seems that Square-enix doesn't care about there fans at all, theyre beginning to get arrogant....they think that theyre fans just buy every console they release FF and KH on. I can't blame them because it works.

They released FF3 on the DS to....that was a big kick in the b*lls to for the fans. because the entire serie from 1 to 12 is on the playstation except for part 3.
Disney also stated that they might plan on only releasing games for nintendo consoles, because they believe that there gamers are on those consoles.

I gues it won't be suprising Square will do it, the Wii sells pretty good after all, but I'm still sure a ps3 KH will come....they would be stupid if they won't make one :)

i think it might be due to the fact that KH is a lot more child friendly than other final fantasy type games, and due to the way ps3 is going they think it would be a better decision to put KH on the Wii and keep there more mature FF on the PS3 and make there MMO games multi format ( i assume there next one wont come out for Wii, but it would be nice to see what they did if they do)

Well I don't mind really, but I can understand that some fans may be angry.
I thought there was a rumor about a MMO on the Wii, from the Mana serie.

I'll try finding the site I read it.

I really don't care if Sony fans are angry about this, Xbox fans have 10 times more to be angry about, it's about time SE did something decent for the 360.

Pretty much everyone else in Japan are supporting the 360 yet SE as usual with their screwed up Japanese ideals aren't.

And it's not about SE not respecting their fans, they are simply going where the money is, and right now that is with Nintendo.

Not too suprising, really..isn't that what they've always done? Nintendo fans may recall getting burned by SE in the past. Can't say I really blame them for not supporting the 360 though, I don't think that Final Fantasy fits into that demographic very well.

Sure, lots of people in the west play those games too..but I can't blame them for directing support based almost entirely on the Japanese market.

That's true, I did say that..and if they were going to make it an exclusive game, they probably picked the right platform..but I'm glad they're opening it up to other platforms. Perhaps it will help grow the franchise in the west a little..though I doubt it..the PS2 was huge here last round, and that hasn't seemed to help it much.

Square Enix has never been a company to product multiple versions of their biggest sellers..I don't think there's ever been a Final Fantasy game go multiplatform, has there? Not counting PC and DS releases :)

Maybe it would be wise for them to change that policy, especially now that there's not a clear leader across the board yet. I certainly think an Xbox version of Final Fantasy makes a whole lot more sense than a PC port.

I hope they make a new multiplatform MMORPG. I like FFXI but find it almost unplayable at the same time--it is dated and it shows its age. I love the atmosphere though, very enjoyable world to take part in..and a real achievement on the PS2.

hmm trying to find a a site to help me make my snes multi region ( apart from cutting a whole in it ;) ) i want to play chronno trigger and many of my other faves, my old snes has died in the humid loft :( along with my 64 :(

off topic yes, but been as though i want my snes to play the old ffs again it is kinda slightly on topic :D

and dont say "use a emulator" or my fave "get a US snes" hell no A: it is all about the console and pads, the carts and manuals :D and B: converters suck

and the action replay to my knowledge did not make the US games run in 60hz i may be wrong if so i will get one of them :D
