I always enjoyed Sega Rally and Ridge Racer, Not a fan of Sim style racing.

The best Sega Rally in years is Rallysport Challenge 2. That was the first time I felt that someone came and brought the same kind of feel to a racing game successfully, without getting overly realistic and charmless in making it authentic. If you enjoyed Sega Rally, then RSC2 is a good bet for further enjoyment.

RSC2 is an awesome game, but I don't know if I think it's quite the same. I wouldn't call it a sim, either, but it's not quite as much pure-arcade-fun as SR2.

RSC2 is one of the very best games on the original Xbox though. If Sega really picked up a bunch of ex-DICE developers for their racing team, they picked a good bunch of people to aquire.

It's definitely not the same, but at the same time it's the most similar since Sega Rally 2. Of course it depends on what car you're picking, but when it's good I distinctly felt that "this is good sort of like Sega Rally was good!". :)
