All Points Bulletin (APB) is an original MMOG for PC and 360 being developed in partnership with Webzen of Korea. A city based community game best described as cops’n’robbers online. Choose between playing the criminals or those out to catch the criminals; carry out or thwart opposed crimes and build up areas of the city you control, all with unprecedented levels of character and vehicle customisation.

Well its an mmo so there goes the GTA feel sorta...

Come to think of it this could be big IF they include a lot of cool voiced missions for us to do similar to GTA.

They may also need to be rather strict on how someone drives? Like breaking a stoplight should be punishable I think. We should be able to go after people and arrest them for such a thing. The car chases and shootouts could be pretty fun. I guess we'll know what the deal is when we gameplay. It would be pretty cool if you had some decent physics for the player models since there are no superpowers in this game.

Where the hell is the future anyway? People told me we'd all be wearing see through plastic by now, and these games should damn well set examples!

At this rate we'll be floating around in shiny hovercrafts wearing baggy jeans. :(

Realtime Worlds is a-okay in my book. They just came up with Crackdown, so they've got original covered. This guy has credits in the original GTA games, the awesome top down GTA's that it seems most people have forgotten about (which I think are free downloads on rockstar's page btw).

I think APB is going to be pretty awesome, I think the whole concept sounds fantastic. Modern day cops and robbers. Been wanting an online GTA for a long time, and it looks like someone is going to beat R* to the punch.

GTA4 has a lot of competition now.

Plus it's not all gansta stuff. Just look at some of the art on www.apb.com

There probably aren't that many themes which have two opposing sides, each of whom have different objectives, set in a city and is one that nearly everybody can identify with. Besides, the only mention of Gangsta, or indeed gangster, is in this thread, not in any of the blurb about the game.

I've a hunch it won't be quite as "street" as you fear. Also we need to ban the letters GTA from every game that might be set in an open world city environment. It completely skews everybodies expectations.

Ah, thanks for the heads up GriftGFX, maybe it isn't as "bad" as I thought it was.

And yeah I agree, not every sandbox game is a "GTA game", sandbox is a genre now, just like any other genre out there.

That said, expect every prospective sandbox game out there to be compared and measured with GTA, that's just the way it is unfortunately...

Well GTA is clearly the measuring stick for these types of games so it sorta has to be said.

This game is expected to be a massively multiplayer GTA with some unique twists.

are these games actually fun.......when i look at the gameplays of gta saints row they look generic this turn me off from playin them

i think this genre needs to expand it really has pontetial

Agreed. Their designs are excellent, even the gansta design is the best I've seen so far.

if you could create your own character, I would NOT go gangsta because I just hate it...I would go like a "Merc" style, something you could see in Chronicles of Riddick or Pitch Black, eaming cargo green pants, brown shirt, cool shoes...and a bag cross the body and GUNS!

Then I would kill the gangstas, thats how I work.

Anyway...if thats ingame then it looks great.
