GOOD
Brilliant environments; tons more content in true Elder Scrolls style; rich plot that you can totally ignore if you want.

BAD
Do you have enough time to get wrapped up in another Elder Scrolls game; no, seriously, these games devour life in all forms

Some games are just too long. The gameplay is not addictive enough to last the length of the game. This is one of them.

i disagree, you dont have to play the game in one sitting, you can stretch it out over time you know :Dif a game is to big i just play it on a friday night and the rest of the week piss around with other things.

I dont mean to put down the game. It was one of my favourite 360 titles of 06. I'm just stating a common problem i have with certain games. This game had really poor combat IMO, no sense of impact what so ever, and took a thousand hits to kill someone (even in their sleep). Also the loading times were annoying. Little things like that cause me to lose interest in a game even when the story is as gripping as it is. I think i played for 28 hours and just lost interest. I had the same problem with KOTOR, no doubt an amazing game, but just could not be bothered to finish it.

I can see that being true of some gamers. I think others quite enjoy the discovery oriented games where they do true roleplaying, determining their own path in a new world. RPGs are not for everyone, especially true RPGs ala Western ones, just as the story oriented Japanese RPGs are not for everyone.

I am not really into either (until either get better realtime gameplay mechanics and offer a story / world I am interested in) but I can see the merits of the genre.

actually reminds me of that statement NINTENDO made about how they make these massive games but only a minority complete them, so there going to make there games shorter so all people get to see it all.... but of course still charge the same amount of money :D
