Mass Effect - 6 Character Classes Confirmed! - Main forum

Well I don't know if this has already been posted, which I do not think, so here it goes.

They are:
Soldier – Soldiers are Combat specific characters.
Engineer – Engineers are Technology centered characters.
Adept – Adepts are characters especially skilled with Biotic abilities.
Infiltrator – Characters who blend their Combat and Technical abilities.
Sentinel – Characters who balance using Biotic abilities and Technology.
Vanguard – Characters who mix their skills at Combat with their Biotic abilities.

We will have more on the different classes in upcoming updates. So stay tuned.

Well my first real run will be on Vanguard, which is Soldier with Biotics (dark energy). My second run with the female Shepard I am going with Infiltrator (Combat and Technical).
And the rest of the styles will be random of what I want to try out.

I seriously did not know that it would have been 6 classes, they always mentioned 3 which was Soldier, Biotics and Tech, but now they really added mixes, which is great.

BioWare, release the game damn it!

I thought you can always switch between 3 characters anytime you want, so you can pick 3 different classes...

You can switch anytime you want, but not everyone can be Shepard =P.

Because the main character is Shepard you obviously gonna go with him, so you choose what class you want. But in the game you can switch.

Got this post from someone over at Gaf, referring to the character customization, spoiler just to be safe

Oh man, I just watched the X06 trailer again and noticed that it shows the character customization screen. I paused and wrote down what was there. Very Happy

Pistols -> Expertise, Marksman, Accuracy, Extended Range, Improved Marksman, Stability, Ultimate Marksman
Assault Rifles -> Expertise, Suppression, Accuracy, Hail of Bullets, Improved Suppression, Stability, Ultimate Suppression
Shotguns -> Expertise, Carnage, Accuracy, Overcharge, Improved Carnage, Stability, Ultimate Carnage
(Doesn't show any of the skills for the next categories)
Tactical Armor
Fitness
Telekinetics
Spatial Distortion
Personality
Training
Vanguard

You can put five points (they look like little bars) into each skill in each category. There are also five personal character stats, but I can't tell what they are by the icons. I am guessing strength, intelligence, vitality, and two others.

"Includes the suppression ability which prevents enemies from shooting back."
"Includes the Carnage ability, which overloads your shotgun's reactor to unleash a massive burst of energy."
So, pistols for accuracy and sniping, assault rifles for suppression and rapid fire, shotguns for mass damage

Huh? Pistols for sniping? Damn this really is a sci-fi game witht he latest and greatest high-tech weaponry.

Just being safe, I know a few people that would consider stuff like that as spoiler. I learned my lesson :P

Aren't your weapons customizable, so that if you wanted you could make your assault rifle used for sniping if you wanted to?

I have no idea. I do know that you can customize your weapons of different gadgets, powers, devices...etc. but a pistol for sniping is hard to believe. Although PDZ had one *shivers* haha :P

Some nice info..as far as what class I'd chose, well I can't be making those kinds of decisions quite yet. I'll make that call when I actually have the game in hand, and I've heard more about each class.

Yeah me too, I want to see what they can do. But by it's description I have always went with combat because that is needed. But the others like Tech, Biotic or Engineer is something to look out for.
