It was 3.6-3.8 million a month or so ago. Perfectly plausable, but MS has had several 'GoW has sold 'X' million' announcements, who cares anymore? Just do another one when it reaches 5 million.

I duno if a sequel would do as well, obviously people have bought GoW because Halo 3 isn't around.

I doubt so many people would pick up a sequel because they will be too busy playing Halo 3 :P.

people have way more money these days to buy games..it'll sell better if you ask my opinion

If there's a sequel in the works, it's 2008 at the earliest, so even though I'll still be playing Halo 3 by then, I'd be well up for picking up a sequel.

Plus the install base will be much higher then. If the game is anything as good as the first, it'll sell a ton more.

Tops Halo or Halo 2, not possible.

Halo sold more than 6 million and Halo 2 more than 7 milion (it's close to 8 million I think) so gears has still quite a way to go but very good news nonethless givent that the game cost them only 10 million dollars to make, they sure are making way more profits Id say.

There's nothing that'd stop me from buying GOW2. It's got Halo pwned in a shooter match. SP campaign? Not so much...

Well this was THE game for 2006... why should it sell so well, its looking good, this is hard proof serious gamers go for x360... Yeah most ppl finished the game in 1-2 days, firt because once you start it you cant stop... and yeah it is a fairly short game, not by shooters standards.
I would like to bring up theres longer shooters but often not for the right reasons, repetition and boredom are a poor excuse for having a longer game... I guess im biased cos i really loved the game, and with the co-op you can easilly play the game 2-3 more times with your frineds, its a great experience.

I'm guessing you mean on the 360, other than Halo 3, probably GTA4.

I did it in 2 days, without co-op. Although it was on normal, but it doesn't matter anyways, I was new to game.

Good game anyways.
