YOu said it man. a gears of war graphical clone. does it use unreal engine ? because this is what I keep talking about as a problem of everybody using UE3. all games will start looking the same and I DONT LIKE IT!

i think there are quite a few studios that have used ue3 very differently to gow, but then there is Huxley :(

Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6 Vegas uses UE 3 doesn't it. It doesn't exactly look Gears of Warish, now does it?

Huxley has looked like Gears of War since the initial trailer. I don't think this should be taken as evidence of the engine being inflexible. Considering this is an MMO, it looks pretty nice. Better than the last screens I saw.

Yup, pretty much.

Rainbow 6, Lost Odyssey, Mass Effect, Stranglehold, Elveon, Bioshock, Roboblitz, Too Human, Brothers In Arms, Monster Madness, just to name a few. All of which use the Unreal 3 engine, but neither could be called a Gears clone :P

It is just that the publisher of this game is being a cheap ass. They are not creating their own art assests but instead are using the one that comes with UE3. This mainly has to do with their own artists.

Im pretty sure Rainbow 6 uses UE2.5, just as SC:DA. I believe UBI-Soft wasnt ready to plop down the money just yet.

I thought R6 was the first game to be released using Unreal Engine 3.

As for this game looking similar to gears... I say meh, no biggie the game looks nice and the concept is interesting. If it turns out good then I'll gladly give it a try!
