For those of you who were also not selected for the beta, I have a special treat for you today. Shadowrun forum member S8 Biggs made a 15-minute video which I edited a bit to make it within the 10 minute minimum in YouTube. The only problem with the video is the audio is non-existent due to limitations on S8 Biggs’ end since he doesn’t have the proper connections to pull the sound, but who cares, we get our first glimpse at direct Shadowrun footage here people!

I don't mind that there is no single player.....

I find it fantastic that u can use all sorts of ways to get around like flying, teleporting, i think there are allot of cool idea's in this game...

Now i just have to wait and see how it turns out...

Well Battlefield Modern Combat had your typical war story, but games like these are famous and only famous for its online.

I hate bots. BF2's bots are only available in single player and co-op, which I appreciate. I hate joining Counter Strike servers that are mostly populated by bots. Also I think what deft is saying is he likes narrative, which BF (even modern combat) and games like this in general are completely lacking, regardless of a setting/back story.

And Shadowrun could totally have an awesome story, if they returned to the franchise roots. Hopefully this game is successful enough to warrant such a thing in the future. The thing that makes me mostly pessimistic is how they are sabotaging the PC version of the game. I would like to hear more about the pay to play nature of the title--PC gamers are not going to join Live Anywhere (gold) just to play this game--hopefully that is only necessary for cross platform play.

Also interesting: They say they've balanced the mouse and joypad play--but you can't even change your look sensitivity in the PC version of the game--which I understand (is a balance issue) but it's also very retarded. PC gamers are picky about that kind of thing.

If you want a story don't play these MP driven games, simple as that.. If I play Quake 4 MP online on my PC with my friends and we're having a blast just shooting eachother to gibs, do you really think we care about any story?? LOL!

Some people enjoy playing the AI and scripted events in a story driven SP game, others just like playing versus and with other people in a online fragfest, and some like both.. I think I'm in the last category..

P.s. Shadowrun look a bit slow.. I think that's a way to balance things a bit more between controller and M+K.. And it really don't look like much of a aiming game, which also makes sense if you wanna give controller players a fair chance..

Just shows how hard to pulloff this whole multi-platform idea is.. I fear you simply cannot balance gameplay between a controller and the much superiour M+K setup in FPS games other then seriously restrict the M+K players.. But we'll see, I'm still very interessted to see how it's gonna work out..

Yup, Shawn Elliot from GFW magazine ranted about it a bit a few episodes ago in their podcast--and he sort of butted heads with FASA on the subject on the 1up yours podcast from the week before. It seems like a console game all around, even when you look at the PC version. I'm still interested in trying it out--but my interest in trying the PC version has dropped significantly since hearing that news.

And I've got your back on the MP only thing. Nothing wrong with it, and if you don't like it--there's plenty of other FPS games for you to play.
