SoooooOOooo, what do you guys think of this? I have to admit I think it's a bit rubbish myself. It doesn't LOOK particularly exciting (I'd so have prefered a more abstract approach to the backgrounds.. as it is it looks like the screen a local TV channel puts on in the middle of the night when there's nothing left to show) and the gameplay never feels intuitive enough to be relaxing.
The basicest of rythm games, and it's essentially just a super simple attempt at an old formula with uninspired visuals.
To me anyway.
Go on, tell me how wrong/right I am!

"Drunk definitely, I don't know if you could call it driving."
LOL at that Simon tv thing! you're spot on there, I felt like sleeping looking at that wallpaper :D
use letters rather than arrows. much more clear
Are you telling me that the man that tried to put rubber fist in my anus was homosexual?
Perhaps my addiction to this game is because I haven't played many rhythm games since Parappa the Rapper until now. I still keep meaning to pick up Elite Beat Agents but haven't got round to it....
Still I think it's great :)
I'll try it up later today.
Where the crap is Shenmue 3 SEGA? Scrap that thing called Shenmue online and finish the Shenmue epic story on 360!

Try it for free is the best way to find out I say. I spent an hour trying to top the leaderboard on one song earlier. It's possible I'm just sad but I was having fun at the time!
I think the problem with the length is pretty obvious though. There are only what.. ten tracks? In a game like Parappa or Gitarooman the lack of variety in the music is more than made up for by the character and charm those games bring to the table.. this game on the other hand is completely lacking in that respect.
I also thought the visuals were pretty decent, especially when you hit the bonus. The backgrounds do seem pretty drab though. I also think the game would be a good deal easier if the notes hit the same spot every time.. a yellow note can hit on the very right side of the screen just as easily as the left. I think I'm more acustomed to a little more consistancy in my rhythm games.
Ultimately I don't see this getting my 800 points, at least not yet. I'll put tphat money towards GH2 instead.. which despite the huge price difference seems like a better value to me. 70 tracks and a special controller more than make up for that.. at least for me.
Didn't think it was "rubbish" personally.. and for 10 dollars I'm not sure we can expect much more.
I don't know if you notice deftangel this thread here: http://xboxyde.com/forum_8_19109_1_en.html
Anyways, Frets on Fire is a MUCH better game and it costs you nothing at all. Again, that's a problem with Live Arcade, and it will just keep on disappointing if they keep on bringing this overpriced and average games which you can easily substitute on PC for free. It's a shame really.
Boom Boom if ok.......for 5 bux....and if it had AT LEAST 20 tracks. The two tracks in the demo are pretty damn boring, so that leaves you with what? 8 tracks? That may be very personal, but that's why you put more tracks in there. 10 is very mediocre imo.
Oh well, I'll just get back to Frets on Fire :D

But I was quite dissapointed. Deleted it after 4 mins. 800 points is way too much.
On a side note to Bizarre: dump that overused "Serpentine-D-Bol" font already, it's everywhere!
And I'm full of rage, I was hoping for CATAN y'day . .... oh my
the only tyrant I accept is my inner voice
I think the music is good enough but I agree that the graphics aren't that spectacular. I was expecting alot more looking at GWars'.
Overall I think it's a great game but I'm not getting it while it costs £6.80 and there are games just like it out there for free!
