I proceeded to play for another couple of hours.
If you like Pinball, or have played a quality pinball game on a PC and liked it, you'll like this game. Only 3 tables, and I only like two of them, but it is a very solid game. It looks excellent, ball physics are top notch.
Do yourself a favor and DL the trial and give it a go at least.
One of the best Arcade titles I've played.
If you have ever played Pro-Pinball on the PC, you wont' be dissappointed in this.
Although there are only 2 table's that i really like:
The racing one and the agent one.. it's a very solid and fun game!
"You're being arrested for drunk driving."
"Drunk definitely, I don't know if you could call it driving."

Yeah the racing and agent one for me too. I've scored about 120Mill on the 1st and 3rd tables so far.
Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2
I hope they seek out some licenses for classic tables. Medieval Madness (where you smash down the castle), No Good Gofers, Twilight Zone, Terminator 2 etc. etc.
Halo/Gears Of War pinball would be cool as well.

This game does seriously rock, and I knew before I played the demo that I was going to love this. But playing the demo, really sold the game. I hope they get a few new boards up pronto.

*just not convinced about the extreme table*
Now when they start selling tables individually for a couple of dollars each, then I'll hop on board the hate train with you. $10 for a piece of new software (that's not a port of some PC game that costs less + more content) really isn't that bad.
I usually agree that the DLC stuff is way overpriced -- but mostly the add-on content for other games. $5 for a classic game w/ enhancements like online multiplayer and big-ass-leaderboards doesn't seem too bad -- and neither does $10 for new software. The amount of content is a potential problem though.
I like eating bananas because they make me feel like a monkey. Is that weird?
I also don't see how Popcaps selling their stuff for more makes a difference. It only makes it more of a rippoff.
You can find these for PC for less than $5 bux for a game that is of equal quality with a bunch more tables. Hell, even online you can play some good ones for free.
I found this on my first search.........sure, it isn't a great one, but damn, first search?

EDIT: And last to take into consideration is the fact that we used to get this games for free included with big games. Shenmue had a bunch of old-school sega games........how long until we see them on the marketplace with a huge price that? Ninja Gaiden included the classic NG, I'm sure MS would love to sell those online, and what about Ninja Turtles, could they not include the classic game with the new one? I'm sure they could, but that wouldn't be a rippoff, so I don't see it happening.

But no.. most new commercial PC software, even the worst of the shovelware out there, can not be purchased for $5 or less. Log into Steam, and see if simular software doesn't sell for a simular price (hint: it does).
Now maybe the whole online distribution system concept is just broken.. but that doesn't seem to bother most people, so we're not going to see it change. What could (and should) change though, is this whole modular game bullshit that they're pulling. Sorry I don't need an episodic PINBALL game.
So to some extent I agree.. but I think you're overstating this a bit by suggesting that it's a problem with XBLA. The problem extends to other formats, and other media. Pricing is an issue on the VC, PSN, Steam, etc.
For example: You can buy HL2 Episode One at retail cheaper than you can on Steam. Which leads me to ask -- where are the savings involved with digital distribution going? To the distributor -- to publishers -- the developer? Why wouldn't the end user share in on the benefits.. when they're not getting a hard copy anymore?
Blame iTunes.
And I can get you that software for the $5 or less on PC. Not retail exactly, only because they usually don't carry old games (Pinball), but other places like "computer shows", which there are many of them where I live, very often. I wouldn't be saying it if I hadn't seen it myself.
And I focus on Live Arcade because I frankly don't care about the others. I don't have a PS3 nor a Wii, and I would NEVER EVER buy this kind of software for PC via Steam or any other place.
The thing is like you said, it doesn't seem like an advantage to us. It feels like buying from a retailer. I could understand those prices from a retailer, but there's no such thing. It's a huge rippoff and I hate it.
And yes, the additional tables is just too obvious which makes it even more pathetic. Come on, what a joke.
Hironobu Sakaguchi is coming back to reclaim the throne :)

Hell the Pinball Dreams/Fantasies/Illusions games contained four tables and they were full price and well worth the money.
I must say when I change the view on the table this thing looks so incredible.
