It's a rather long preview, but damn now I fully know the concept of the game and my expectations have just gone through the roof.

I especially recommend reading the part about AI *drools*Also the part about story sounds awesom.

Seems they have put alot of though in to the Bioshock universe, one of the things that still bother me is that is it gonna pull off without frame-rate problems? Not a huge problem, but it is much more pleasing if it does. Because it sounds like pretty immersive experience and I don't want anything to bother me :) Must buy

The last 7 minute video was rather smooth, very few framerate issues. And according to deftangel it should be rock solid 30fps when it's released.;]

Yup, gibbet for deftangel if I spot a single framerate drop in Bioshock. :D

You should just want to buy it instead, like everyone else. Bioshock looks incredible. You like solid single player campaigns? Well thats what this game is all about.

Well Beagle I'm very impressed, but it isn't the style of game that fits my tastes. It isn't that its a shooter because I love a lot of shooter games, but its more the art style (which is very impressive), but not really in line with the things I like and the feeling I get from the story (of what little has been shown so far) doesn't really jump out at me yet. Perhaps a good bit of a story cutscene would cement my decision.

Other games I'm dead set on getting for example, like Halo 3, there a lot of reasons I could go into that makes that purchase a must for me a lot of aspects of it are to my liking same for Assassin's Creed, GTA4, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Mass Effect, and a number of other games, but with Bioshock the biggest motivation is that it looks incredible.

Willing to overlook personal taste just to play a game I think looks amazing is what I did a lot when I did only pc gaming only interrupted by the customary Final Fantasy or GTA game and Fable which I found really interesting and worth the time. I loved Quake 3 and a number of Unreal games as well, but they were never inline with what I was attracted to stylistically, but they were incredibly fun of course :)

I'm almost positive the game is probably going to be game of the year worthy with an amazing story, but there are a lot of things I'd give credit to for having a great story, but it still may not be a subject matter I'm fascinated by. So if anything thats my reason, but with that out of the way the more I see of the game the more I'm willing to put all personal tastes aside and just say what the hell and jump in. I'll be keeping my eye on all future media for this game as what depending on what is shown it may cement my decision to buy it. My biggest concern is that I'll buy it be very impressed for awhile then not be motivated to continue on. This game is definitely on my radar though I'm just waiting to see that definitive thing that helps me make up my mind.

Like Mass Effect I actually wasn't remotely convinced by that game for a short while, but what ultimately did it for me was the Prologue Bioware put up on their site and then the purchase and reading of the book which I loved and now I can't wait to get my hands on it. All I thought at one point is that its by the Kotor devs so obviously it has to be good and it looks amazing, but that wasn't enough to convince me still. I needed something more to make me want to care about the game, its characters and its universe and I got that from the book in a big way. Thats the very reason why I can't bring myself to buy anything for my PS3 as no game does that for me yet. Early on I did a lot of impulse buys for the 360, but now I'm going to be more careful.

I liked the EGM preview. Sounds incredible, but I wonder how easily some of these powers and environment traps can be used. If it ends up being more of cool thing to watch and more of a chore, I'll stick with my good ol' fashion shotgun.

I always thought they were trying to discourage the use of conventional weapons. Like in Condemned I thought they would give you very limited ammo. I may be wrong but that is just the vibe I've been getting from all the videos so far.

I am really excited about this game also. Any project Ken Levine has been a part of has always been something special and I am not expecting anything different with Bioshock. However, I am very much afraid this title may earn the "best game nobody played" award. Hearing a lot of people impressed by the graphics but unsure of anything else has me thinking this is a big possibility.

On a different note, I started reading the preview from the first link in the thread and was immediately struck by something. They said they were visiting the studio in Quincy, MA. That's where I am!!!!! I did a little bit more digging and discovered that they are located literally 5 minutes down the road from where I live! I Wonder if I can bribe them with the local Chinese buffet....all you can eat :) Oh well, A guy can dream can't he?

There's an incredible interview with Ken Levine on OXM Podcast (13 or 14 minutes in). I love basically every answer. Ken really knows how to please hardcore gamer part of my soul. :]
