I am glad that you have to time and combine stuff to defeat your enemy.
Depending on where in the environment you are, what is close to you like chairs, bottles, knifes...etc. and where the enemy is, you have to figure those things out to combine cool cinematic combat.
I for one can't wait, played Fable on Xbox long time ago and I loved it, and Fable 2 is gonna be great.

IGN praises it a lot too. This was in another thread, but Fable could use a dedicated thread.
The fans have spoken. Concerning the graphics of the Halo 3 Beta: "There's so many little effects and things going on that make this game pretty much 2nd only to Gears at the moment."

BTW I love how Peter is talking about everything, so much passion in his voice.

The combat is single button based -- sounds lame, but IGN is praising it. The melees are rhythm bases....
X, X, (hold) X.
X, (pause) X, (hold) X
Different ages and skill levels produce different results. Long range and magic each have their own button as well. Tap the long range for quick fire arrows, or hold for more accurate, etc.
How you die sounds awesome as well! When you are "beaten" you go down. You can either give up some gold, exp, renown, etc to get back up OR stay down, get some scars (which impacts how people interact with you) and get up on your own. Ala Neo in the first Matrix, you come back for me! And when you get back up you get an extra "umpf!" to redeem yourself.
Oh, and you have a dog!
Wow, a MGS studio really innovating. Sounds awesome. I am glad Lionhead is getting major funding these days. This sounds like a killer app. Release it... when it is done MGS! Don't rush this.

I like that he mentioned wanting to have some depth to combat. Mentioned Ninja Gaiden, Soul Calibur and Virtua Fighter. Not saying it'll be as extensive, but the fact that he's thinking about it and thats his intention is good enough for me.
Hironobu Sakaguchi is coming back to reclaim the throne :)

Halle Berry: Delgado i am feeling really reall dirty tonight, shall i call Jessica Simpson for a threesome?

Watch that, the contextual stuff will be amazing if he pulls it off and this time he has another year to do it in.

PS: my above comment doesnt refer to Fable 2. Infact, I only were complaining about tthe combat and he went ahead and brought JRPGs into the discussion :)

Anyway, let's move on. I just watched the combat demo and it's not quite perfect yet. And when Molyneux said the combat would be context sensitive, I also thought it would be environmental context as shown at X06.

Honestly alimo, I don't see how you can rip on a game for using one button(actually 3) that can be pressed/held in varying rhythms to perform different context sensitive moves and say it's disinteresting when you obviously are all about a genre of game that features one-button, menu-based combat that has been around for decades.
You are right, I don't like jrpgs. I don't like turn-based "combat," and when it's meshed with childish writing and incoherent story-telling(although these two things may stem from issues with translation), it only becomes that much more of a chore.
I also hate the generalizations, but I'm actually in agreement for the most part. I've never been a big JRPG fan, although some of them certainly appeal to me more than others. I will play Trusty Bell, even though I was expecting quite a bit more out of it.
But yeah.. when he actually sought out the least experienced gamer to show how simple the combat system is, it speaks well of accessibility, but that's about it. It certainly doesn't seem very deep. Yet.
It is still early.
