oh my god, the tearing . . ... . . and SEGA's racing games were 60 fps in the arcade, but Saturn SEGA Rally only had 30 fps.

But I really hope this will be good

Yeah the framerate is the only thing that really bothers me about it at this point. It has clearly been a WIP they've been showing off though (even a debug options menu for wireframes and stuff) so I think they'll sort it out proper before release.

As I've been saying earlier it's a developer 100% devoted to racing games, so I think they have their racing priorities straight enough to ensure it's a smooth ride. :)

As long as its as fun as the old versions i will be happy, I like games i can just pick up and play, as oppsosed to FM2 and PGR which takes time to master and get used to.

Probably why i like Ridge Racer 6 so much.

it looks so bland. its like rally by numbers. nothing really stands out about it minus the track deformation. and that really isnt something to buy a game over.

I don't see any tearing, not on the screens and not in the video. I think the game looks really great, but i don't like the lighting.

No there's plenty of tearing up of the track - the technical demos by Sega (like this one http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=AGF3Snt8ftE) really show off how the track deforms and churns up. Looks really sweet - can you imagine what it's like with force-feedback? :D

Some lucky bloggers got a preview last week - I saw this review - http://www.britishgaming.co.uk/?p=2361# and they rave on about how good the physics works (and the lush graphics). This sounds like its shaping up to be the best racer of 2007 :)

Where exactly is the tearing in the images/vid posted by the thread starter? Maybe you can point it out on a screen, because i see absolutly no tearing.

Hm maybe I posted the wrong video - anyway from 4:00 onward in this video - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Me9C00BpTwI - shows how the mud gets churned up and the polygon mesh. The other vid is for snow. I think a hi-res version of both is available from the top of this page... HTH
