Hope it's good.
The cutscenes seemed a bit awkward, but good non the less if you dont think about how much better good looking games there are.
The gameplay is a tricky one, you have to learn the moves, and combine your aiming and the stradegy of the entire environment around you to get as stylish as you can get, and those will give you points.
The already unlockable difficaulties are Casual and Normal. I played on Casual and thought it was good.
But once you go on Hard and "Hard-Boiled" it is crazy!
It seems that the AI never misses one shot to you.
Every diffcaulty you unlock will give you new power ups.
One is the "focus shot" were the camera follow the bullet till it hits the enemy, and the cool thing is that is really reacts to their body.
For instance I shot one at their eye and you could litteraly see his entire half of the face bloody without an eye.
even so, I tried shooting his finger off and I shot another guys balls, and they react so great once it hits them.
The guy that got shot in the balls was just standing with low knees and hands on his wounds and then fell down from the stairs, great stuff.
The other power up is the rapid fire, so I dont need to explain that one.
The last one is "Spin attack" which Mr Tequila takes a shotgun or any fast and powerful gun and just spins around and takes out everyone in a cool cutscene.
The first one you gain is the health, so if the bar is full you can heal up at any time, but you gotta keep killing and such for the bar to fill up. The more you fill it up you can do those power ups.
The game is fun for sure, but I gotta say, those who LOVE Hard Boiled and tradional bad ass John Woo firefights, this is the one. Forget Max Payne, Dead Rising...etc. Stranglehold is the one to go with.
Although I would want tog et it, but I rather save money to the games is on my list.
And by the way, I played the 360 version of the demo, so when the PS3 version hits up I will download that one to compare both controls, graphics and the general graphics :D

Nah but the thing is that you are rgiht about that everything in this game is destructble and I think the team behind this game rather want that than have bad ass graphics with nothing to destroy while its a John Woo project.

I can imagine balmer carrying demos down the internet tubes ;)
It feels like playing a Max Payne 1 mod. UE3 is its usual charming sporadic slowdown self, "cool moves" are so context ultra sensitive that you wind up doing.. mostly nothing, every time you attempt one.
Let me use an example. First of all, all the ideas for the actual moves are really good, it's just their implementation that SUCKS. Anyway, there's this move you can do against a wall where he springs off it into a dive. That's cool right? Well yeah, but he can only do it ABSOLUTELY facing the wall. If you're running in an alleyway and you wanna bounce off of the right wall, you can't just steer towards it and launch yourself forward diagonally. You have to run absolutely STRAIGHT into the wall and spring off it into a dive which is gonna make you end up on the ground with your head bumping into the opposing wall.
Stuff like that just completely destroys the flow.
Speaking of destroying the flow: When you get up on a railing, running or sliding along it (cool right!?) and you wanna jump off? Well, you can only jump off straight away from it or straight forward - by DIVING. If you wanna land on your feet you need to go all the way down, waiting for the canned animation. If you do decide to dive off you'll end up on the ground somewhere in this example too, prolly with your head rubbing against a wall as usual.
In a wild attempt to keep the flow, Midway has opted for a slippery bum Tequila who just can't contain his desire to slide on EVERYTHING. As soon as you get close to something he'll throw himself on it and go WEEEE!! This is in theory a good thing, as it means that you'll never run into things and get stuck (well you do alot anyway) but in practice it just gets you in these situations where the surroundings seem to abduct him. The fact that his bottom sliding has you on a "rail" means that in the attempt to not hinder your control, they take it away all the time.
I just think it's a clunky, dated mess. It looks pretty neat when crap blows up, but I've really already played this game, and it seemed better in 1999 when it was a Matrix mod for Max Payne.
I'm usually not this harsh, but when they make a game with Max Payne OBVIOUSLY as the foundation in these post- Sands of Time and Tomb Raider Legend times, they have to make the interaction with the environment an absolute boatload more dynamic, intuitive and seamless. With the supposed budget they had, it's even more lamentable.
It seems really well produced though, so if you can stomach the clunkyness I'm sure there's fun to be had here. It's one I'll avoid though.
Precision aiming rocks though Testicle shot for the win :0 lol love how they done all different animations.
