Kaim isn't always in your party so what? Maybe there is a pretty good reason for that? :)
There are a lot of cutscenes in the game. The fact that Kaim doesn't entirely remember things after he gets resurrected is a pretty obvious setup for plot and his past playing a major role in the outcome of his life now is yet another plot device we know nothing about. CVG is pretty amazing from whatever hands on they got they determined the story doesn't play a major role in the game :) Maybe there are some optional memories and then there are some you HAVE to see? That isn't like out of the question or anything. I wouldn't be surprised if this game involved you going to different places that triggered more of your memory forgotten.
Or is this just like the Blue Dragon demo everyone played and made a pack of assumptions about the game itself simply because they didn't get to experience enough of the story in the demo?

Don't ask any questions just shut up and buy Halo : Ghosts of the Onyx one of the greatest books ever.
pssh! more like electronic gay-ming monthly! amirite
Mortal Characters that die you have choices leave them be letting them die in peace or you steal their abilities. Pretty much majority of the abilities you had in Blue Dragon I think will be achieved in this game via stealing the abilities from mortals. Unless of course they totally got rid of that mechanic? I don't think we'll be getting anything too major until TGS.

I know I will like this game no matter what, much the same as I liked Blue Dragon.
Trusty Bell is full of faults yet i still like it, im just happy to play a JRPG on a 360 to be honest.
I would have to agree with Optimus on this one, I wouldn't take much notice of this "preview" to be honest, odd that no other sites have come out with this bullshit. (or maybe it isn't)
Marumaro for the WIN !!
its a generic JPRG like blue dragon, of course its gonna suck

Well obviously the game itself deals with moments in his past, but perhaps these stories are seperate pieces of backstory entirely that have no significance to the game's events? Nah I doubt that I believe you probably wont need to have looked into the Thousand Years of Dreams option to understand the full picture, but it will just like the Halo books so to speak serve as a means to give you a deeper understanding of the character and all he has been through. A pretty interesting way to make use of the writer's talents I think.
Don't necessarily force him to do something he isn't accustomed to, but have him display his talents by writing all these memories and give them their own stage to shine so to speak. I like the idea a lot. If those "pictures" are more than just pictures and are indeed manga type stuff I'll be blown away by this game in a big way. I'll then have 2 things to look forward to the game itself in addition to a complete manga right there on the game disc. I'm really excited about this possibly being a manga and not just random pictures for our amusement to go along with the text. I hope this is a full fledged manga they are talking about :)
Think about the PSP browsers Op!!

Imagine for a sec if this here were taken directly from the possibly manga they have included with the game? Microsoft apparently didn't show this to anyone, but people saw the option on the game menu. Man.. don't wanna get my hopes up too much, but if this is a manga colaboration between shigematsu and inoue I'd probably go nuts at the very thought of it happening. Its probably a typical color page from a manga or something obviously an extremely good one, but man :D
Whoa my fault they didn't say pictures at all they specifically said Artwork!
