Ninja Gaiden 2 - Confirmed to be shown at TGS on the X360?

This was confirmed by an insider in the Japanese gaming industry. According to the insider, the PS3 version of the game has not been confirmed at the moment, but the game will in fact be shown for the Xbox 360 system. He further states that, the game will be shown on the Xbox platform at TGS, because of the relationship with Microsoft and the developers.

However, there is a possibility that, the game will first be released for the Xbox 360 with a PS3 version following shortly. The industry insider also states that, this game is important to Microsoft because, it has potential to increase console sales in Japan.

Honestly i am a bit suprised considering how much of a xbox fanboy itagaki is and how important NG is for MS. If a ps3 verison is in the works, its the Sigma team doing it, not Itagaki.

It's sold a little under 200k world wide.

But I agree with mkk316. I don't think Itagaki wants to even touch the PS3.

OK thats not so good, i thought with all the talk of how great Sigma was, that the ps3 owners would have gone out and bought it, guess i was wrong.

It's not like they've confirmed a PS3 version even exists, so I don't even know why we're having that discussion. I don't think it's impossible by any means, but even this sorta sketchy article states:
According to the insider, the PS3 version of the game has not been confirmed at the moment
So everything stated there after is purely speculation.

Well people have to actually buy the PS3 before they buy games for it. 200K isn't great, but for a system that has like an install base of 3 million or so upon release it isn't bad.

Tecmo, in a press release, announced that its first PlayStation 3 title Ninja Gaiden Sigma has a total of more or less 500,000 copies in circulation worldwide. This is really good news for the company considering the game's been out for only a few months.

But seriously though, NG 2 is gonna be awesome, and we will see it in some sort of a motion form, like teaser or something, hopefully not as shit as the RE5 which was like 10 seconds or something.

I know it will be exclusive for the 360. IF they decide to make it for the PS3, I hope it won't show up until years just as the previous ones.

NG is a Xbox icon anyways.

But NG 2 is gonna be AWESOME, hopefully with the new art design Itagaki talked about and all the bitching about how other 3rd action games are bad, he must make another one bad ass game, which doesnt seem like a expansion or something like GRAW to GRAW 2.

Anyways, can't wait!

Because Itagaki did so...all this bashing that Heavenly Sword and DMC4 is this and that, we want to see what the "master" can do himself.

But all this hints of he is working on it, and a lot of hours, which NG Black is my most played game EVER, I really want NG 2, because its a sequal, meaning new characters, new story, new weapons, new locations, new soundtrack, new bad ass movies and new art design...all that being new, who wouldn't want NG 2 to be shown.

Hmm, saying what if 1 of the big xbox exclusives arent exclusive anymore is a bit pushing it, PS3 getting anything ninja gaiden is bad enough for the image of the game as a xbox xclusive, but now maybe getting both games seems rather like MS is ran by idiots, when they could just built a dev studio for itagi, and not have to worry about tecmo...

There's really no substance to their statements about a PS3 version anyway, they're purely speculative. But what makes you think that Itagaki, and more importantly, the whole of Team Ninja, would leave Tecmo anyway?

It likely did, but by about 40k units. Meaning that the 360 price break in August will likely gobble up that dent easily. For Sony to get near PS2 levels it will need to outpace the 360 at about three time that rate per month.
