Phaethon, the forum Spectre.
Cut to Castle of Uhra Castle Hall. A maid is delivering food to someone who's sitting at a long table. The guy at the table is dressed in gold. He seems very important, but very cold. He's a prince, I think. Someone named Gangara comes in and tosses his food on the floor.
He takes out a mouse and puts it on the spilled food. The mouse eats the food, then collapses. Tentacles emerge from it. Apparently someone has attempted to kill the prince.
Gangara and the prince are speaking. Cut to a scene of Gangara walking out of the prince's banquet hall. He gives money to the maid and thanks her for her work. Apparently Gangara is trying to maniuplate the prince. Cut back to the mountain scene.
Pouring rain. Sakaguchi is now controlling.
It seems hard for Kaim to move int he rain -- I presume this effects your movement when actually controlling. Cut to a cut-scene. I think Kaim is having a flashback. The flashbacks are the sequences that were written by the famous author who's on the project. Sakaguchi says that because theres no time, he's going to skip it.
He takes control of Kaim again, walking through the rain. He gets into a battle. The battle here has Kaim, Sess and Yansen fighting together. Doesn't really look too different from past versions. Back to climbing up the mountain.
Sakaguchi is explaining some stuff about the battle system, but I can't hear him over the music [sad].
When the characters do some attacks, a targeting ring appears around the enemy as the characters charge in for attack. Another battle, this one against two flying creatures and a ground creature.
The attacks are prety brutal in the game, both for enemy and ally sides. You can really feel it if you have the sound up, which they do.
Back to the mountain top. Sakaguchi makes it all the way to the top of Ipsilon peak. It's clear up here.
A cut scene as the characters walk up to the top. The game uses little cut in windows to show closeups of the characters talking as they walk. I think this was known before, but it's much improved over the original demo.
Kaim sees a town in the distance and begins to have a flashback. The game switches seemlessly to a pre-rendered cut-scene.
Kaim has apparently been at that structure before. One character asks, "Is it just dejavu, or has some lost memory suddenly been found?" As they speak, a giant flying creature comes in and attacks.
Boss fight time!
The targeting circle things appear to require that you input button presses. They show perfect or good and so-on depending on your timing. The targeting circle looks really neat because the camera switches to behind the character's perspective as they charge in. It provides an intense view of the action
The beast does a super powerful attack, killing Sakaguchi. Everyone laughs. Sakaguchi apologises.

Since May '05 I have been waiting for Lost Odyssey to be released....having to wait now 1 or 2 months longer is nothing for me.
The IGN Article sounds pretty awesome!!!
Thanks for posting.
Blue Dragon --- August 28th 2007!!!
Lost Odyssey --- Holiday 2007!!! XD
Last I remember Final Fantasy 7 nor 8's regular encounters were hard either. I breezed through practically every normal enemy encounter just like Sakaguchi was doing in that lost odyssey demo or as I'm doing in Blue Dragon. Even a number of bossfights were easy except for specific ones. I get the feeling people forgot how easily you could destroy regular enemies in games like ff7 or even ffx :)

Turn based games are naturally easy unless you are under-leveled or stupid in your choices.
I will be getting the JP version because i can't stand to wait a month for the US version (which i will probably get aswell)
This game couldn't come fast enough for me, I haven't bought a game on 360 since Idol Master which was back in Jan.
Marumaro for the WIN !!
Anyway, Lost Odyssey is the only game that really gets me excited!!!

I was going to use another game as an example, but then I realized what it might lead to so I'll use Kotor. Majority of the battles in that game were very easy especially as your jedi powers grew, but it was fun to mow the pawns and even some bosses down as if they were nothing. Although the last set of fights in the game were hell the game on the whole is what I'd classify as pretty easy, but it was extremely fun and that's the most important thing.
Easy doesn't mean divoid of fun afterall :D
