(looks just like me too LOL)
Such a refreshing change of pace from Tony Hawk. And man ohhh man this city is HUGE.
Undercover Brother
Here I've been playing the game pretty much 3 days straight (which hasn't happened in a long time with ANY game by the way) and I'm still finding sick new spots to skate.
I just found one that's like a corkscrew/waterslide type of deal that launches you off a ramp and over a street. Check my latest pic for a cap of the jump hahaha.
testing
I went off the jump doing a coffin grab. LOL Needless to say I didn't land it. I crumpled like an aluminum can against the wall on the other side.
Good times...
I got more speed and was able to clear that gap while doing a coffin grab. Check my page, video #2 to see it.
This game owns.
I really like the learning curve in this game. Brings more satisfaction when you actually complete a trick. Really like I'm seeing and hearing. Looks like no more back to back 900s! :p

What. The. Fuck.
EA, this is a disgrace. Your servers are absolute GARBAGE. I can't believe you abstained from Xbox Live for so long only to give us such a shitty online experience with your EA Nation bullshit.
So this game, otherwise a ton of fun, suffers from this greatly IMO. Damn shame too.
here's a compilation video i made...

The online modes are quite good, just its a shame that the lag is so shit in every server, and also flawed gameplay where a payer can just manual in circles to win a round, which is pretty lame when you and your opponents are battling it out with crazy amounts of combos.
Some of the challenges are also a bit to hard, and the community seems to be built up for wannabe skaters with ego problems from my Live experience.
EA servers do suck. I mean c'mon only two people in a game and you have trouble EA? No excuse.
[*]Lag is terrible. And even when it's good, other skaters teleport around constantly; you will never see another skater smoothly skating by, ever. It's always a few feet at a time, then they stop, then teleport to catch up - constantly.
[*]Frequent interruptions to "connect to EA Nation". This happens every so often (5 minutes maybe) and randomly a player will be dropped 50% of the time when this occurs.
[*]Dropped players cannot always rejoin a match when you send them another invite. And IF they get back in, there is a chat glitch so that two players can no longer talk to one another.
[*]Voice chat is garbled.
[*]Every time a player joins the room the game stalls, and you are often reset to another location. The same thing happens when a player enters/exits the replay editor while playing online. You can imagine how badly this can screw up your tricks.
The list goes on. Such a damn shame, the core game is so great. But it's just plain frustrating to try to play online. I'd still recommend the game but I dunno if it's worth full price considering how broken the multiplayer is.
hopefully they'll add a lot more tricks such as flatland land tricks like caspers in skate 2.
Some issues are lined up for fixing for the inevitable sequel, granted, but what's here is undoubtedly worth highly recommending. I think the most grating problem is that the replay editor is so strong that it makes a few niggles seem even bigger. The set camera angles are mostly functional, but the lack of a free camera for getting the best shots of the action is very disappointing.
The actual gameplay is brill though. It's like the Amped to Tony Hawks SSX, and the way it makes small things epic is very admirable. Cruising around the city looking for fun places to do tricks is extremely addictive, and it really has kept me up waay too long two nights in a row now.
