I cannot wait for this game. The screen tearing in the "Horse and Kingdom" vid has me a bit concerned, but that might be IGN's issue.

Man this game looks impressive. I've seen better vids with no tearing so I'll assume it's IGN's fault.

I don't care about reviews or whatever, good to hear the good part :)

This game is way original for its concept and gameplay, like BioShock, hard to give up on this one (although I didn't buy Bioshock).

Looks awesome!

And yes I saw tearing, but I hope they fix it, if not, well we got a great game anyways.

Yeah, the game is looking pretty solid for the most part. I'll have to turn up the difficulty when I play though, since I thought it looked rather easy in those videos. Talking about the enemy AI.

man, i want this game so much, my excitement fluctuates between this and mass effect quite a lot, one minute mass effect is my most wanted, then its this. i gotta say this looks to be the most original of the 2 tho.

I have been reading too much on both Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed, and I am getting sick of it.
I am ready to get the damn game now!

it happens when v-sync isnt turned on...basically its when the top half/bottom half of the screen is refreshing a little faster then the bottom/top creating a tear in the image. some games have slight tearing (assassins creed) other have a shit load (saints row) and some games even give you the option to turn it on yourself at the expence of framerate usually (bioshock)

Yep and according to IGN the performance of the game didn't dip once. It appears to be extremely well done.

This game can easily grow into a GTA type hit. It looks fun and just feels new. There are so many different directions in which they could take this thing. They can have a Ninja simulator if they wanted the engine just seems perfect for a number of different things.

It looks very impressive indeed. But what impress me the most, it is how in hell Ubi Montreal is managing to make 3 games at the same time wich are Assassin's Creed, Naruto and Conviction, and the 3 of them look quite impressive.
IMO, Ubi Montreal is the most valuable studio that Ubi has.

They've made some very smart design decisions I think.

For example making those small throwing knives so easy to use. They don't attempt to put skill into it unnecessarily they just make it work and I think that will help keep the game fun.

Had that been a mechanic where the player was aiming himself for those knives I could see how it could start feeling really tedious. The real skill should come from the decisions you make in the game, knowledge of your surroundings and how you handle combat.

He's an extremely skilled Assassin just make his throwing knives be accurate cause situations where the player would throw his knives and miss just seems extremely out of place and disrupts the flow.

Agreed.

At the same time, every demonstration I have seen of this game has made it look incredibly easy.

I don't agree that this is the best next-gen game yet, considering Crysis blows off steam on all other games.

I see issues in AC like shadowing, screen tearing...etc. but I decide to look past that just because of the art, story, and the fact that you can climb anywhere is very cool.

It counts because Assassins Creed is also coming to PC.

You should have said that its the most impressive next-gen game on consoles, make it more specific for no misstakes.

Sorry, I thought it was implied since PC's don't have a "gen" in the sense that we are talking about this game versus other "next gen" games. PC's generation restarts every 10 seconds whenever a new video card is released.

I think this game is one of the more shining examples of a "next-gen" game.

The game mechanics and a ton of other things to me fit the talked up vision of what a next gen title should represent.

Most games as much as I love them are usually only next gen in terms of their graphics or number of enemies on the screen. This game I feel earns that label in quite a number of ways.

Not that a game playing like many other games before it is a bad thing of course as I honestly don't care as long as the game itself is interesting in other ways be that via story, art, subject matter. This is an impressive next gen game by any platforms standards.

What I mean is Halo 3 plays like halo 2 despite its additions, but we don't have a problem with that it's what we all expected after all. The story playing out differently is more than enough to satisfy me. Even Blue Dragon or Lost Odyssey are more next gen in terms of graphics than anything else, but again I'm totally fine with that. Mass Effect is next gen to me in terms of the very cool conversation system.

I think AC is i,n its design, very forward thinking in a lot of ways.
