Thanks man! Haven't seen thoose. looking fantastic, and there actually IS a god: I was fearing TN removed the good old dragonblade since they didn't show it on TGS.

Uh and that final finishing move in the gif pic is crutial. O.o

Wow, look unbelievable in terms of gameplay. Graphics? Not so much. It looks a lot like Sigma, but I'm hoping they improve on this, they have time and considering how smooth the game is running already, it could happen.

Graphically I expected more out of Team Ninja this gen, but after seeing DOA4 and such, I'm not really disappointed with NG2's graphics considering I lowered my expectations. :p

I think they just need a better lighting engine, dynamic shadows, and add in self-shadows to NG2.

From what they said the lighting is better than we think.

Ultimately I just take these vids for what they truly are just an indication of what the game looks like since when it touches my HDTV that bad boy will really blossom :)

Might as well remove Ryu from the game and give us a new character.

I love the idea that Itagaki is gonna add a evil super ninja to the game, not some buffed up idiot on steroids like Murai.

The game from 1up that played it said that Itagaki told him the evil ninja will be like if it was evil ryu kind of type, now thats bad ass...difficault, but bad ass.

Devs do crazy things these days to ruin their franchises just so they can say they've done something unique. Halo 3 is a perfect example for me.

and history should tell us that games get polished 3 to 5 months before they get released

i get where your coming from. Ninja gaiden on Xbox was a huge leap in comparison to any previous title i had played that got me really interested in the game. The pre-release trailers and gameplay footage really caught my attention (perfect controls, frame-rate and amazing graphics). However looking at ninja gaiden 2, for some reason im not even half as excited as i was compared to the first one (maybe because the first one was so good and this doesnt really improve on it in the way i was expecting).

While very true, these early game play videos kinda give us an idea where the art direction is heading and the core gameplay elements that will lead up to the final release. The Game will for sure get polished, but the polish will be more in the direction of what weve already seen so far (like solid frame-rates everywhere and maybe a few textures here and there).
What i was expecting from ninja gaden2 Isnt what im seeing now. I totally had something else in mind. Given the power of the new hardware in comparison to the old one (512mb unified ram in comparison to 64mb ram), i was expecting some thing totally different and didnt quite animate like sigma. Fact is you cannot just look at it and immediately identify it as ninja gaiden 2. In most cases it can be mistaken for sigma, unless looked at for a couple of seconds to analyse the enemies and environments.
I cant really complain how the game is shaping up, It seems to me they have modified the existing engine to accomodate higher res textures and scaled the frame-rates in accordance. This will lead to a very solid title building upon the success of the First, but it wont set another bar in this genre.

i don't know what you where expecting. but as far as art direction/style ,presentation, core gameplay is concerned this is what has defined what NG, since its debut on the original xbox. its itagaki's version of NG and as long as he is in charge it won't change.

I haven't seen that video and I am not going to watch it. I just don't want to spoil it, same think with Mass Effect.

Good think that I can enjoy games just fine no matter how bad graphics look (not saying this looks bad).

polished yeah but i've never seen a games gfx really significantly change (for the better) since previews to release. I mean things like self-shadows, post-processing effects, motion blur ect. Like stuff you see on all newer games, Ninja Gaiden 2 deserves to look so much better. The first one was awesome and looked amazing when it was released, which is why im surprised how little they improved the gfx engine for NG2.

Honestly, I for once after DOA4 and especially DOAX2 didn't expect mindblowing graphics. These games looked nice, but weren't graphical powerhouses (to defend DOA4, it seems all fighting games this gen aren't graphical powerhouses and it looked nice for a launch title). Also, I didn't find NG1 graphics as impressive as others perceived it.
And really, did anyone expect it to look as good as (let's say) Heavenly Sword, which runs at half (or less) the framerate?

I don't understand why DMC4 threads don't see all these complaints, the graphics really aren't better in that game. Maybe it has something to do with expectations.

The combat itself is still the king among games. It looks ridiculously good and IMO it's more fun to watch than action movies. I love the uberfast pacing and all the stuff going on, blood fountains, limbs flying around, weapon traces and most importantly character animations.

Also, I hope that enemies' cooperative AI isn't Itagaki's bullshit and it will be impelemented and it will really improve the overall experience.

Ok first off, I think it looks beautiful, and certainly better than NG for the Xbox. Have any of you checked out the 1upshow, there's more than 10 mins of talk and footage. Here are a few notes:
-Sheer amount of shit going on onscreen can be nuts, and no hits to framerates (were talking limbs, blood, rockets, tons of enemies, orbs)
-The game is harder (o shit!) and many there are far fewer giant bosses at least scene so far, instead you fight giant boss type enemies 3-8 at a time, as if theyre normal minions
-You can't get the idea of how amazing the new lighting system is until you see it on a screen before you
-New York city style level looks great, it rains, and Milky says he swore he could see each individual raindrop (add that to all the other shit flying around with no frame hit)
-Enemy AI can be very good

Seriously though, as long as the game is still kickass, and looks "13 times more kickass" (1upshow), and the action is fast paced (way faster that NG for xbox) I'll be happy. Unfortunately looks like I'll be having to suffer in Ninja Dog mode once again for a while.

I really doubt anyone will be completly dissatisfied with the graphics in the end. Lightning looks a tad flat I agree, but that said even in CoD4 the lightning looks dull in some places, espeacially in/at buildings.

Let's not talk about the awesome gameplay and huge enemys and this is where it's at for me. It will again be insanely hard to play through, but this is one of the defining features of NG for me. If enemys were pushovers, why the hell are they there in the first place?
