Plus Gears of War 2: First Details (Guesswork)
Improved Story: In addition to technical and graphical improvements we can expect a much improved story. CliffyB himself has admitted that the story in Gears of War was criticized. Indeed, the story was told almost exclusively through non-interactive cut scenes that while cool, effectively serve to push narrative as secondary, or separate, from actual gameplay. While it's still unclear as to what extent Epic will go to improve the story telling in Gears of War 2, we can be assured that improvements will be plentiful. Indeed, CliffyB has insisted that they are paying special attention to sustaining continuity (source) so that they avoid any awkward conflicts between the original story, the novels, and its continuation in Gears 2. Likewise, ClfifyB insists that they're putting increased effort into the actual narrative, or telling of the story. As voice actor John DiMaggio, who plays the role of Marcus Fenix, proclaims "the storylines are really cool and the relationships of the guys in the game – the sequences that explain things that are going on – they're a lot deeper" (source). Influences have no doubt come from games Bioshock. CliffyB is an especially enormous fan of Bioshock, and both these games include extensive narration and story telling. I would certainly be surprised if Gears of War 2's narration was extensive as either of these two games, but it will definitely much improved.
Bad Guys: Xbox 360 players who haven't picked up the PC version of Gears no longer have to be jealous over not being able to fight the Brumak. In an interview with John DiMaggio, the voice actor for Marcus Fenix, IGN discovered that the Brumak would be making an appearance in Gears 2. Likewise, you can expect to be greeted by some creatures that make the standard Locus look scrawny. As DiMaggio proclaims "there's bigger beasts in this game. Bigger beasts."

Mass Effect - March 10th - Continue the Fight!!!
Bitches!!
I'm playing the first one now, in fact (Y).
I'd find it hard to believe that everything that was shown in the tech demo wouldn't be implemented in Gears 2.
"Excuse me, is your refrigerator running? Because if it is, it probably runs like you, very homosexually."
Cheers dc (Y)

You can dream all you want, kid, but it won't do any good 'cause when you wake up again you'll realize nothing has changed.
It was short, and the campaign wasent worth going through so many times.
The online is a pure shotgun+chainsaw fest, so its boring. Not enough variety in weapon abilities or models so you are stuck with with one weapon pretty much through the entire game.
Am I hyped for Gears of War 2?
After the first one, not so much, but I will keep an eye out for it though.
Cliffy said that the first one was like a "teaser" (bullshit), and that the second one is gonna be bigger, and more bad ass...unless they gave more "ah shit" lines to Marcus and more "The Train is here" for Cole haha.
Besides, it is looooong way until November arrives, and I am not gonna think that far away for that game, when all my most wanted games I wanted for a few years is coming out within 3-4 months and some.
*A New Form of Change*
The singleplayer doesn't interest me that much, as long as they keep the coop modus as good as it was in GoW. The MP is where it's at (and no Sath, it's way more than shotguns and chainsaw, the playerbase is a lot more mature now). If they manage to get a better Netcode running that'd make me happy. And I expect some gameplay changes such as meleeing and chainsawing.

UFC 2009, Its going to be the best game ever.
Anyone that calls themselves a "Hardcore Gamer" seriously needs to reevaluate their lives.
And no doubt GoW2 is going to be more of the same depressing grey enviroments, so i'll fold on this one!

But I take your point. Tbf, if you edit video settings in Gears, you can make the environment look a lot more vibrant as I have done.

I thought the colors were nicely done. Pretty depressing untill you enter that garden, that scenery blew me away, but they fitted the mood. Also the monuments were mostly colored.
Strange memories on this nervous night in Las Vegas. Has it been five years? Six? It seems like a lifetime.
