Before the 360 was launched i was priviliged enough to go to 2 gameshows where they we're showing the 360 behind closed doors. I managed to get in there and be one of the lucky few to touch and play on a 360. I played some of the preview builds of Tiger woods, Need for speed and Perfect Dark. I posted 2 big threads on here explaining my thoughts about the games i checked out.
Now the weird thing is I played Need for speed most wanted on the 360 and on the xbox and if u would look in my impressions you can see that i thought they sucked BIG TIME. It felt driving a lawnmower and the sense of speed was totally gone. I suggested not to even touch this game.
A couple of months later i can't understand how EA could've made such a beatiful game out one of the dumbest beta builds i've ever touched. It almost looks like they made a completely different game and it was made by another developer. I've played it over a friends house this weekend and I was blown away by it. I even dare to say that if i knew this game was so great i wouldn't even have bought pgr3.... I mean this game looks/plays/feels superb. I don't know if manager or blim or plumb have had the same experience (they've also seen the beta builds), i just think this game is amazing.... (and i'm gonna get it this week :D)
1. it stutters like hell in HD resolutions, I play with 1024x768 widescreen on my 1360x768 HDTV. This way it's not unplayable like with HD resolutions. The sense of speed is realy bad in HD but much better in 480p and 1024x768. But it is still choppy in 480p and 1024x768
2. the textures are low res compared to any other racer for the 360 but who cares at full speed...
3. lightening is just beautiful! cars look great!
but I would never buy that game fullprice... look out on auctions to get it second hand so EA doesn't earn two times for that rushed, technically unfinished but fun game.
It's just this game has become much better than i expected, the visuals are superb and i can't believe how cool the police chases are (the best need for speed was Hot persuit, but after playing this i changed my mind :D). Customization is a little bit different then the underground series (you can't tweak your car that deep anymore) but i don't care, i luv it :D
It looks amazing and plays amazing well worth the money. I know play it more then PGR3 because it's more fun.
ok, the nfsmw online mode is useless because it is SOO laggy...
Guess it depends on what kind of gamer you are. 95% of my game time is online--I don't even bother playing the SP in most games because in most games the AI is horrible and the game is just cheesy with no real depth or replay. Real humans are more interactive and difficult (minus tard factor).
What you like depends where you replay value comes from. Everyone games for different reasons.
haven't tried nfs online yet though.. dunno how that's like..
But back to the main topic again, is there anyone who has seen/played the beta builds and also agree with me that this game has become like a totally different (and ALLOT better) then what they we're working on a month or so before launch...
