I've now got my Xbox 360 (Woo Hoo!!), I've just recieved Dead Or Alive 4, but there is a problem with it. This game only lets you play if you change your display to 60htz - Which is a pain in the *%#@, so I was hoping if anybody knows why this is and if Tecmo is planing on releasing a patch for it.

Also since Im complaning about Dead Or Alive 4 I would like to say that the photo mode is '#%&. Why the developer did'nt allow you to take pictures during your victory poses is beyond me!

If you look on your DOA4 box you will see it says 60Hz only

This is most likely a porting issue by making it 60Hz only the only thing they have to make different to the american version are thoughs needed to get past variouse european sencership s.

It also make's it alot easyer to implement the Live play element as all versions are running at the same frame rate

Why wouldn't you want to play with 60hz???? You got a television that goes beyond 60fps? Or are you using a computer monitor like me? You are suppose to use 60 even if you can go higher.

I got a 52 inch hdtv, but I find my 21 inch dell p1130 in m room with my pc more convenient for me and the screen size is more than satisfactory.

My televison isn't old, but when my televison is on 60hz it squashes down to a letterbox screen, the colurs blur slightly and there is a high pitched sound eminating from the television set.

Surely you can understand that two display opitons are better than one, especially since not all televisions support 60hz!

BTW Panzer83 - Yes no game is perfect, but you do expect the game to improve especially on a next gen console!

Converting games to 50Hz has been a majour course PAL games not being as good as there Jap and US counterparts. Whilst this was a bigger issue with older consoles (where frame rate was directly linked to refresh rate) it is still an issue and for fast games running at 60fps like DOA4, where every thing is very tighly timed so that you don't get controler lag.

Rudds, you say you expect games to improve, having every PAL game support 60Hz IS an improvement. It's a shame that DOA4 only supports 60Hz but on the other hand they need to start pushing for 60Hz only in this generation as it will help with getting games out in europe around the same time as in america. This will start to happen more and hopefuly like with DOA4 it will mean that there wont be region locking. So you can just order games from the states which can work out cheaper.

I can see your point and it would be better once I get a television that works well with 60hz.

BTW The improvement that I was refering to was to make the game deeper, the very few new things in the game are nothing more than gimicks really! Just look at Soul Calibur, this not only had your main modes but also drew you in with it's Mission Battle mode (an adventure mode, where you traveled story lead missions).
Dead Or Alive, aside for the online has not really improved (Gameplay wise) since Dead Or Alive 2, plus half the game modes offered are ones you never use - Watch Mode (Wow!)

I can see what your saying in that respect, though DOA has always been aimed at being an arcade fighter at home. Which is where Live has offered a hudge improvement. Granted the fight system hasn't changed much though some of the new characters offer some fresh moves.

New versions of fighting games have primerily been based on giving better graphics and some new characters. While some Soul caliber and MK do offer more. There are alot of people who just want straight up fights against their mates and people online cos after awhile fighting the computer stops being challenging.

As for the fight system it self, surely it just wouldn't be DOA if they changed it drasticly.

Though it is about time someone came up with a new fighter. Though would also love to see them do a new version of RISE cos that game kicked ass.

Of course, I think the fighting system is the best avaliable than what other fighers offer (including Soul Calibur).
Im just finding it tedious completing story mode for the tenth time to unlock yet another costume. I hope Code: Cronus trys something different.

Does anyone know what Code: Cronus is all about?

Is it going to be like MK: Shaolin Monks?

I think it's going to be some kind of spin-off, like Ninja Gaiden but then with other or all the characters. Or maybe a new sports game.
But has Project Progressive anything to do with Dead or Alive?

The games are made with 720p in mind, as far as i know 720p is 60 hz only (i could be wrong).

Hopefully with this the days of PAL/NTSC will die and HDTV can become a international standard.

Are you running on a PAL SDTV because it sounds that your TV is converting the NTSC 60 picture to PAL 60 basically adding 100 lines and giving you the letter box picture.
This will start to happen more and hopefuly like with DOA4 it will mean that there wont be region locking. So you can just order games from the states which can work out cheaper.
Very unlikely developers region lock games to keep an eye on sales of specific regions.

Yes, that sounds about right, I wish they waited a bit untill HDTV was more wide spead.
