Hmm I don't think Shenmue 3 is in development yet...

The only reason I don't think that it's in development is that because Yu Suzuki wants to work on the game himself and at the moment he's pre-occupied with other projects.

I had a hunch that Shenhua was Lan-Di's daughter and that would be revealed sometime later in the series. possible Ryu would fall in love with Shenhua (although he'd be mad to do the dirty on Nozomi - totally cute!!!)

There has been loads of speculation about the continuation of the series, obviously keep looking at:

If you're interested in any developments. I'm sure IGN interviewed Suzuki San at the end of last year and things were hinted at then about the remaing 13 or so chapters being condensed down into one or two more games possibly xbox (now probably 360) if it's going to happen at all...

I hope it does get developed, but I think it was a mistake porting Shenmue 2 to xbox when most people that would have played Shenmue 1 had already done so on Dreamcast and would almost have definately have got number 2 on Dreamcast also.

opps - wasn't ign, it was www.kotaku.com. but things look good for shenmue if you read the shenmue 3 kotaku stuff mentioned in shenmue dojo.

I believe that was a rumor (originated from Kikizo) and has been proven false...

No more Shenmue...

It hasn't been proven false, when Yu suzuki was asked in a recent interview he said that the game wasn't in development but he was very aware of the petition for the follow up to the sequel.

His main project's at the moment are psy-phi and shenmue online, but said he would like to eventually go back to shenmue and finish the story.

But saying that both Sega and Namco aren't the software power houses they uses to be. :(

Rule of thumb, Adam Doree is something of an old timer sega fan crackhead these days. It's sad really, but the guy really wants all of these little rumours to be true, so he does a full blown article about them and it gains credibility for about 20 seconds until people scroll down and see his name. :(
