But on a oter note, did anyone else here see frame rate drops ? the reviews all claimed the 360 sufered with it and the PS3 was worse

To be honest i did not see ANY what so ever in the 360 version so that kinda makes me think there full of shit on the PS3 version as well

Does anyone else think that these game sites are trying to fuel the war with comparison vids ? i know this site does not (members maybe but not the site)

Trying to get as many people to visit their website YES that's for sure but let's face it, it has been this way since the dawn of time .... there's nothing we can do about it. if the PS3 suffers from those issues than Ubisoft should get its act together ... it's really unfair to treat one platform better than the other. If they didnt have time they should have just delayed both Versions if necessary just to make sure they both release simultaneously.

I dont know how bad it is for the 360, but near the end there is one brief part where my ps3 version of the game CRAWLS! In general the framerate drops were just annoying but at that one part i was aghast at how bad it got. Luckily it didnt include any fighting, but its unfortuneate nonetheless.

Yeah, some of the Jerusalem districts (if you can call them that, old pappy towns :D) give me INSANE slowdown. It's like.. I pass a line on the ground and it goes apeship proper.

As for the game I'm right there with you ManFear, it's just too automatic to stay exciting. The escapes start out awesome, but they don't stay that way simply beacuse they're so incredibly easy. Adding more pursuers would just be cheap, though, and I suppose smarter pursuers is the only way to fix it.

Of course the game recognizes that these are the fun bits, and realises it can't just bombard you with those so it goes to great lengths to give you useless boring tasks between them.

The worst thing is .. it's difficult to really suggest changes without turning into a full fledged action RPG, but it's brought its dullness on itself by setting it in a large "living" world rather than having proper Hitman-esque scenarios.

It feels a lot like Kameo really, where you'd also ride past stuff you'd think held secret treasures if you just got a new skill or some other way of approaching it, but Altaïr disappointingly refuses to scale those mysterious and secretive cliffs simply because there's nothing there.

That's how I feel about a lot of this game, I try to see things in it that aren't there. Ultimately it's disappointingly disappointing. :(

The kills and the escapes are still cool though, and the story is reasonably well put together so I'll prolly see it through. Much like Kameo it's so consistently boring that it never puts you off properly, hence you'll prolly actually finish the game eventually no matter how you feel about it.

I just finished the game (gonna go for the flags, templars...etc. later on).

The ending was VERY confusing, but it clearly shows that a Assassins Creed 2 is coming, besides it was confirmed long time ago that it was going to be a trilogy.

I will give it a 8-9/10...bad ass game for sure...can't wait for the sequal :D

I am still confused of why Altair is talking american in the crusade era :S

Back onto the point of languages, some of them - for some reason - speak french. :O

The following contains spoilers of the opening moments/reveal of the game.
I've been thinking a bit about Altaïr's voice though, and even more the way he expresses himself. Couldn't it be that Desmond is applying his own spin on it? I mean everyone else sounds decently old like, but Altaïr himself gives off this rather modern vibe to me.

I mean the likelyhood of Altaïr even looking like Desmond is remote, so I reckon it's reasonable to assume in "taking on the role", he's applying some of his own character treats involuntarily.

Dunno if that needed spoiler tagging, but the topic says NO spoilers so I thought it safest. :)

This game's combat is extremely good I enjoy it a lot.

I was being so damn cautious initially while in the different towns scared to run if soldiers were going to see me and such or climb things when people are around, but I finally decided to throw caution to the wind and I'm getting into many more fights than I was originally like saving innocent civilians getting hassled and such and I must say I really enjoy it.

I do think its weird how the monks will just arrive at your beck and call right on schedule when you need them on so many situations, but this is a game first and foremost so of course that's fine. The horse speed limit is kinda funny too :)

im really enjoying the game, cant really be bothered to go into detail, but i've not ran into this repetative gamplay a lot of reviews stated. yes you do the same tasks a lot, but their so short and easy i dont consider it a nagative issue. i will say there is a huge wasted opertunity and some slightly unrealised features that where talked about early on in development that are sadly missing. they originally stated you would experience the chopping off of the finger and the attatchment of the hidden blade, but it isnt there, they also said to blend in with the scholars you would have to do favours which assumed ment an almost RPG guild like system where you would do quests for them, what it really amounts to for both the scholars and the guys who grab guards is that you help random people in the street and then some scholars appear from no-where alowing you access to cities or castles....it seems a little contrived to me.

thats not to say im not enjoying it, i've been playing the game A LOT the last few days and love it. assassinating people is rarely this fun and the free running aspect is just as fun and addictive as it was in the admitedly less impressive crackdown.

overall tho its good. minus the fact it doesnt quite live up to the hype. but considering it was SOOO hyped. dropping a few notches still keeps the game in "excelent" territory.

that was longer then i wanted, but oh well.

That is explained during the game, its also explained why Altair speaks with an American accent.

I just read the entire thing and all I can say is...OMFG what an original story this is!

Now when I understand the purpose of this game, the first part atleast, the ending...etc. its just crazy.

I for one loved the game for sure, so the story is just wicked.

This game is a keeper, with originalityin story and gameplay for sure, now knowing somewhat what is to come with the next AC titles, I can't wait!

Had my first real chance to sit down with the game and play it properly last night.

A totally unmatched experience in my opinion, I've seen complaints about things that I found engrossing and integral to the experience (horse riding, combat, view points etc)
