I don't know, I think I'm addicted. I can't stop going forward. Not to mention this game is easier than every JRPG I've ever played. So what if a party member is killed, I don't revive them, I just hammer the bosses till they bleed. I can't stop! Ok I just stopped. I had to.

Easily one of the best looking games on the 360. Right up there with Gears IMO. Although, it really doesn't do much, levels are segregated pretty harshly, still, whats on screen looks fantastic.

I agree Phaethon this game looks incredible. Just love the art.

Just got to disc 2. Finished disc 1 at 19 hours and 42 minutes.

From what I've played so far the game is a 92. All the later action and the faster progression of it all ultimately topping it off with the awesome mechat shooting sequence really put disc 1 over the top.

I didn't choose easy mode for that section :) It was very intense loved it.

Loving this new review. I agree with a lot of the things said in this review here.

Damn near perfectly inline with my opinion. For me right now its a 92, but depending on what I see for the rest of the game that 92 could go up or down, but with me having loved the start of the game so much thus far if the score does go down some I don't expect it to be by very far. Got some higher expectations for Lost Odyssey as a direct result of this Blue Dragon.

They better not pull a Chrono on this series I want more games. The one simply has to respect the amount of effort that was put into all parts of this game's design. The battle system is surprisingly a lot better than I initially expected. I'd like to be able to see accessories on characters in a sequel. That would be a cool addition.

From what I here that while the game did meh in Japan, the manga and TV series did rather well. So I'd say something is possible.

I saw on gaf that it did over 350,000 in japan.

I'd very much like it if the game hit atleast 700-800k worldwide, but a game such as this surely deserves no less than a million sold.

is MS even marketing the game? I haven't seen a single commercial on TV for the game yet. You would think with all the SE/DBZ nuts in America, they would be trying to target them by flashing Sakaguchi, Toriyama, Uematsu game all over the place.

I've seen tons of marketing online, but no actual commercials going on or anything like that.

I've only ever seen commercials on the internet.

Just finished (for people that don't feel they are too far into disc 2 don't read the following)

Chasing that gigantic mecha robot with Shu and using my shadow to punch it in the back of the leg to slow it down.

I just love stuff like this because you don't expect such things to happen they just come out of nowhere.

Also that Moment where you had that amazing barrier up and all the robots were just throwing their lives away was quite the cool thing to see. But when Nene ordered the robots that helped me out when I was in trouble at the laser field area to start running into the barrier throwing their lives away I just couldn't sit by and watch it happen I had to take the barrier down. The music playing at the time also made me feel like I'd totally be doing the wrong thing had I left the barrier up.

I think that's doable, Sakaguchi said they sold 300K in Japan (in the Gamersyde interview) and I think once it drops off the radar it would have equaled that amount, it'll probably pick up another 100K in between and after it goes platinum, so a 600-700K figure is a perfectly respectable amount for the game, especially since scores were so mixed.

Just started it a few hours ago, i'm really enjoying it so far, last JRPG I played was FFVIII, but this....Blue Dragon has just grabbed me despite the less epic nature, can't wait to incest more time.

Thats what I thought at first, but the more you progress the more epic this thing ends up feeling.

I can't say if the same will be true for you, but at one point it will be very difficult to not view this game in the same mold as the Final Fantasy titles. Ultimately I pray just as much care went into Lost Odyssey.

Awesome about that 300,000 stuff so it seems there was some validity to the statement :)

In honesty i've completely lacked interest in it originally, I was and still am always more interested in Lost Odyssey because it seem more FF like and I hated the Blue Dragon demo, but I picked it up for an extra £10 with my elite and i'm so glad I did.

IMO They should have made the first 90 minutes of the game the demo, its much better paced.

Yea same for me as well Lost Odyssey is where the most interest is no doubt, but knowing Sakaguchi, toriyama, and uematsu were involved with Blue Dragon one like myself couldn't in my right mind overlook it.

From what I'm playing right now this is exactly the type of game I'd regret never playing. Nothing short of amazing what they've managed to do with Artoon with this game. As you put more time into it, I think you'll be more and more impressed as to how much work went into this game.

Would love to see a sequel Surprisingly the part of the game I've had the most performance issues with was the very beginning in wastelands. It seems they've worked on the framerate because its pretty damn smooth thus far. Performance issues are pretty rare and when they do show they really do nothing to affect the experience.

That's what I like Best about the game, each dvd ends with a bang! so there's no escaping the changing of disc, pretty good way of doiing it that's for sure. I still havent finished the game and it looks like I wont be able to. catching a plane tonight so i wont be finishing the game until I come back by the end of october :(

Guess this adds more fuel to the demo nothing like real game fire eh? =P

lol that entire thing was wayyy different than I expected it to be. They made it seem so easy to do in demo, but there was a lot that you were required to do. Maru is still just as funny as ever on disc 3 :)

Story managed to surprise me quite a bit. I still don't see how reviewers can claim this thing doesn't have likeable characters or there is no emotion to story or other crap like that.

I mean sure if you're a heartless SOB maybe =P

While a seemingly simpler affair earlier on its all developing quite nicely. The bond between the characters is without a doubt growing and has developed quite nicely and you're feeling a lot closer to the characters.

With some of the crap it has taken in reviews making it seem like a totally lifeless experience you simply wouldn't expect to see some of things I've seen throughout the game or especially on disc 3. Characters are showing serious growth and learning from previous mistakes and showing depth people didn't think they'd have.

Your surroundings just taking in the art design, accompanied by the music, what the people around you are saying, it all comes together to make this game something special. It's such a perfect beginning to disc 3 I think. They took something we've had since the beginning of the game and totally made it feel cool all over again. Really love the way this game is planned.

Lots of times reviewers don't finish RPGs. You can almost tell exactly where they finish off too (like in Etneral Sonata it was after the Queen of Ice initial battle). now some are better (Gamespot) than others (IGN).
