Hey, just figured I could post my problem here aswell(duh!!)

It's been bugging me for a little while now.
With COD2 I get some pretty noticable framedrops when any smoke/dust is arround.
Especially when I launch a few smokegrenades, I really get serious framedrops.
I had tested It by throwing 4 smokegrenades and while in the center off the smoke, I spin around and watch the compass on the bottom left(this makes it easier to see the framedrops).
When doing this it is really bad, and I appear to be the only one suffering from these framedrops with COD2, as I had mentioned this in another forum and nobody at that forum seems to have these framedrops, or has noticed them.
Last week I had sent my x360 back too microsoft and got another in return(it WAS infact another x360).
But with this one I've got the same issues.(I've sent it back again and will be expecting another this week)
Also, I went to a store were they had a x360 demo with COD2, so I tried it there and that appears to have the same issues as mine aswell.

Now I'm very confused, because I've played COD2 on three x360's and all off them had the framedrop issue's, while allot of other people don't have these issue's at all.

Also, with KAMEO and PDZ I don't get any framedrops at all, but with PGR3 I get an occasional framedrop when walking arround in the garage, but not ingame.
With Condemned I get an occasional framedrop too.

btw, my x360 and powersupply ARE getting sufficient cooling as they are placed on a table without anything blocking them, and the dvd is in perfect state aswell.

I'm running in 720p with a samsung le26m51b and I've tried the component and a vga cable, and I encounter the framdrops with both cables.

Any thoughts/experiences?

cheers....

I will give it a shot when I get home and post the results or maybe you could convince blim to record the event with his fancy video capture hardware.

yeah me too, i get frame drops with COD2 quite bad, throw two smokeys and it all goes to shit , condemned is better but still noticeable here and there, alot of people do not notice this so i was wondering if it is my 360 that is not working properly.

my display is 720p samsung LCD HDTV

The thing is, I'm not being fussy about it, or anything.
There are really noticable thus enoying framedrops I encounter.
What can I be doing wrong here...
-DVD is OK.
-x360 and Powersupply are getting sufficient cooling.
-TV and Cables are OK too.

activision has said it is the 360 having to draw more lines in 720p so it cant perform like it does in 480p.

i'll get you the link from xbox.com

people who DO NOT experience frame drops can you tell me if your intro movie the one where the camera pans over the destroyed house does that run smooth or do you notice any hiccups at all.

please only people with HDTV's reply.

The onnly thing I can think of is your display not refreshing fast enough for some reason. Can you see any clipping or tearing during the frame drops

I'm not quite sure what you mean with clipping and tearing.

I have tried this on a TFT lcd, an CRT and my own Samsung LE26M51B which I just recently got and should not be a problem at all.

everyone who does not experience the frame drops choose the russian sniper level and tell me if you see any slowdown in 720p, i want to know if i have to send my machine back to MS for a check up.

Even in 480p I get framedrops, not as bad as in 720p though, but noticable...
Yeah, that intro movie doesn't run smooth at all with mine either

Try this in 480p:

-Throw 4 smoke grenades on a quite spot
-stand in the middle and start rotating
-check the compass on bottom in the left corner until the smoke disappears...

i see what your saying but wouldnt it be a constant frame drop if that were the case and not just in the big battles.

i hope its just the game, but then why cant other people see it?

also the garage in PGR3 does drop but i heard that is not locked like the game is so you should'nt worry about that.

But what about this:

I had the framedrops with my original x360, I returned it to Microsoft and got a new x360 back.
I tried that one...still the same framedrops....
So I go to a shop were there's a demo x360 with COD2 on it (it was a demoversion though) and that one also had the same framedrops.....weird...

It's a pitty I don't personally know anyone else with a x360
