This has become clear to me after visiting the Crackdown forum.
Refering at that dev blog I posted here earlier it appears that the so called "level 5" is infact 4 stars, as in:
level 1 is 0 stars...level 2 is 1 star...level 3 is 2 stars...level 4 is 3 stars and level 5 is 4 stars.
So that other thing he mentioned in that blog about being able to jump 15 meters high was nothing but an exaggeration (I however call it a lie).
So, the only thing that will happen when you max out your abilities (4 stars and fill up the meter) is that you'll unlock an achievement, you won't get an extra final power up or whatever.
It's a bit of an disappointment, but I can live with it nonetheless...
I was under the impression (just from playing the demo) that your abilities slowly progressed. You don't hit level 1 and then all of a sudden you can reap the benefits, if you're half way to level 1, you see that reflected in your jump/strength/whatever.
I also could have sworn that after hitting level 5 in agility, I continued to jump higher as I filled out my bar. I got to like, level 5 + 15, and it seemed to me that I could jump a bit higher than when I first hit level 5. I was also under the impression (based on a post, just a few back) that when you hit maximum level you can jump ~50 feet, which is quite a bit higher than you can hit with simply four stars.
Either way, doesn't really break the game for me..but now I'm teh confused.
Was I dreaming all that?
Er, confusing and horribly formated post--sorry about that. That's what you get for confusing me in the first place :P
So you will improve after you reach 4 stars (level 5), but you won't get that final boost to progress even further.
Instead, you just unlock an achievement and you get an "--" in the ability status bar instead of the "4 stars".
The max of what you can achieve in the demo, is the same max as you can achieve in the retail version, so that 50 feet (15 meters) talk was just BS.
It's a bit confusing, I know, but a dev on that forum has basicly confirmed this...

I've never hit -- in any skill in the demo, have you? Maybe I'll try hitting it in agility later tonight, seems like the easiest to up really quickly.
My guess is that the max will be 35 feet or so, I don't know.
It's all still very confusing as these devs are not giving proper straight answers and are spreading around contradicting and even incorrect info.
I'm ok with it if it isn't the 50 feet or whatever, but I just want some straight answers without all this bloody speculation...

Ok, so I'm still not satisfied with the answer we got, especially after reading this feauturette at IGN:
http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/751/751603p2.html
"However, after earning all four agility stars he can run at 40 mph, jump over 40 feet high"
So the the following question asked here earlier namely: "Are the demo max levels equivalent to the retail max levels?" isn't all that relevant to me.
The maximum levels (4 stars) is true for the demo, and the retail version, but what about the actuall figures?
Agent G, answer me this question and I'll be satisfied:
Is the maximum height you can jump in the retail version higher than the maximum height you can jump in the demo version? And, is that higher than 40 feet as is mentioned by a certain developer in that IGN featurette?

Zero to none, guess we'll have to find out for ourselves on this one... ;)
Where the crap is Shenmue 3 SEGA? Scrap that thing called Shenmue online and finish the Shenmue epic story on 360!
Also, driving around with the agency truck (with nitrous) at 4 stars destroying everything and everyone like a lawn mower is just so much fun (to bad the framerate doesn't hold up too well then though)! :D
Another thing I read is that they plan on plenty of downloadable content such as new gangs and an agency motorcycle..! (not confirmed though)

Also, here's how you do that SUV wall climb (quote from the CD forums).
I've figured out how to drive completely vertical. First of all you have to have your driving at 4 stars. Get the agency SUV and go up to a vertical wall. Keep driving into the wall until the front 2 tires are up on the wall. When the are, hit and hold the B button, don't let go or else you'll jump off, when you do this its like the tires magnitize to the wall and you'll drive straight up. You can only go so high or else the suspension lets go, if you keep pressing B right after the suspension realeases you can keep climbing. Its wicked sick.
I know plenty people are probaly sick of the demo allready, or are steering clear from it so it won't spoil the final game, but I'm still playing this demo 2/3 times a day and I just can't get enough..! :D

I've been playing Forza 1, lol. I bought the gamebridge, that thing to record video and I want to make some replays and probably upload a good video to youtube. I have to say that it does work. I haven't actually tried playing a game with it so much, but from the little I did, I noticed no lag. Video quality was also pretty good for what it is. I'm thinking about doing some recordings of many games, including PC, even from my Dreamcast now that I have some decent editing software too. I just hate youtube quality, just awful--when is the next gen youtube coming out?
