Basically the second player takes the role of St. Lucia.
Sounds like a pretty cool idea if you ask me.
Launching April 29th.
And the coop looked like it was just online and in those challenges ... not a new adventure.
Veeeeery interesting!
My interest was dead once I read that you wont get any other weapon than the Scythe, but this whole "mission mode" stuff and customizing what type of enemies and how much sounds great!
And co-op? Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 type co-op? hell yeah!
This game caught my interest again for sure, but april? such a long wait for that mode.
And here is the interview video of them showing the mode http://www.wat.tv/video/dante-inferno-featurette-t... Lucia looks great!

Even if the story is simple, I just love the intro of NG1.
The settings was very cool, disturbing and unique and I thought each circle really captured its sin.
The 1-2 last levels was a bit annoying though, waves of enemies coming in that you had to do specific tasks to complete it, 2 of them I hated the most.
Lucier's first big form was awesome, really cool design. The second one...well you will get to see his penis hanging which was unpleasent :P
But after I finished it, I unlocked alot of stuff.
1. Resurrection - New game+. You keep everything from your last playthrough. And there is no way to max out Dante with one, so playing it a second time is needed.
2. Gates of Hell - Arena mode. Thank GOD that there is a Arena mode, I didnt know, came to me by surprise, and for this genre, unlike Darksiders, it has replayvalue for a good combat and just to have fun!
3. Extra outfit. Dante's crusader outfit can be worned in campaign and Gates of Hell.
4. Infernal. Basically its the last hardest difficulty.
In the game you do get relics which is perks for Dante's moves and abilities. Each have 3 levels that you can max out the more you use them, and they cant definitely be maxed out in one playthrough.
At first you get 2 relic slots, but upgrading Dantes unholy and holy level, at some point you get to "purchase" 2 extras from Virgil.
The game isnt long, but it isnt exagerated short as many put it, I guess it depends on a personal standard. But for me, it doesnt matter if its short or not considering Gates of Hell (misison arena mode) is in it, and add to the fact that they are going have Trials of St Lucia in April with Lucia being playable and the features in the DLC, for me, it is definitely worth to keep.
I love the visuals in the game, well its visual effects for the flames, particle effect which I am a big fan of...etc. small stuff like that, it was great.
I will give this game a 8.5.
The only bad thing with it is that there is no additional weapons other than the scythe (as a primary) and not even a redesign, nor can you upgrade it.
And no extra unique new unseen outfit. The crusder outfit is my favorite but still, something that hasent been showned before would be nice, or a remodel of Dante (like in the animated movies).
Those are basically it really, I cant think of anything else to add that I didnt like it.
The very fast, brutal and fluid combat with its flashy visual effects is just great.
Then the fact these guys was smart enough to add custom music for PS3 I have added awesome dark orchestral music for using them in Gates of Hell, and later in Trials of St Lucia.
Adding relic abilities to Dante is a nice light RPG effect, exactly like Darksiders had it.
IMO, I dont see anything bad by copying a game, unless its badly made.
For example Ninja Blade, a shit rip off from Ninja Gaiden and God of War with its massive QTE each few minutes...now thats bad.
These guys copied God of War in a few places, but so did Darksiders from VARIOUS games, but I still love them because they are made very very good.
The only thing I am doing is playing Ressurection mode and maxing out Dante's relic and abilities and trying to find cool orchestral music to use in Gates of Hell.
And then in April for Trials of St Lucia, and I am excited to see how St Lucia is gonna be like, I already love her design alot.
I am glad I still caved in for the game even though I hated the fact there is only one weapon, but later on I didnt care anymore when you getting alot of moves for both scythe and the cross, just fast and awesome stuff.
And the CGI was awesome as well, rare but still, extremely detailed and cool.
There is still Castlevania bro.
FROM THE DARKNESS I DRAW MY STRENGTH!!
There is still Castlevania bro.
If I am getting a great experience thats all what counts.
And I am LOVING Dante's Inferno, I did say all the time that I love the whole heaven and hell, angels and demons myths and whatnot, so this i great for such a mood for sure.
But considering this already has Gates of Hell arena mode I can play it with maxed out Dante, and add Trials of St Lucia and its golden...something Darksiders didnt have unfortently, but it doesnt make them bad.
But anyways, I love Dantes Inferno for sure...but I am still dissapointed with one weapon only, and that has been my problem all along, but now that I know it has new game+, arena MODES (dont forget customizable mission mode from users AND online co-op like NGS2) and custom music on PS3...its awesome.
Besides, the combat is extremely fluid and fast and the controls are tight and responsive and the hit detection is right on!
I for one dont see anything wrong. Even the game had some nice dark epic scenery which I loved alot, especially the big firey beast that you control, fantastic detail and design.
And yes, Castlevania Lords of Shadow...bring it!
As for DI I will not buy it cause Im saving for Read Dead Redemption if not I would buy it.
I hate debts!!
FROM THE DARKNESS I DRAW MY STRENGTH!!
Anyways, DI's trophies are easy, I pretty have gotten all of them with a few missing, but they can easily be gotten through Gates of Hell, then I might get my first Platinum trophy :)

She looks awesome.
I love her design, a really beautiful design (love the name as well).
What surprised me is how fast she is with the scythe and how well they implemented the wings and the idea of shooting projectiles from her eyes, pretty unique way of fighitng.
The co-op idea beats what NGS2 has, customizing your own arena mode and let your friends play it (or play it with them) and rate it, great stuff.
It was pretty neat to see two Lucia's on screen, looked intense. I wouldnt see myself playing as Dante when Lucia kicks ass :)
Only thing that STILL bothers me is the fact the game is very scythe based, wish they added a sword atleast because using Scythe will get boring for sure. But whatever, pretty cool stuff.

I'm at a point right now where I consider returning the game for something different, maybe try Bayonetta even though I thought it was too cluttered (I couldn't see what I was doing in the demo).
She looks awesome.

She looks awesome.
The game, though, is not without its problems. It's a clear copy paste of God of War which is fine but you cant help but think, come on where is originality in all of this? Combat is not without its problems either: aiming is completely rubbish and the camera tends to screw you into angles where u cant see who's actually attacking you.
Setting is quite well done though at times it is incredibly digusting! It honestly reached the point of being too much and felt a bit forced! Story though, average at best which is kind of disappointing.
All in all though, it's your average good action game.
Though St Lucia looks nice (character design) :)
The different circles of hell aren't even that different, and the times they've attempted elaborate, interesting imagery can be counted on one hand.
What should've been a disturbing and beautiful journey, an affecting and visually striking descent into hell backed by adequate gameplay, is an uninspired trek through sloppily thrown together puzzles and platforming sections - some of which are absolutely baffling in their nonsensical, flimsy structure - and combat too complex for its own foundation. And again, the most devastating of all; it all displays a complete lack of enthusiasm for its own subject matter.
The PS2 era graphics completely deflate the fleeting encounters with imagery that might've been interesting, and send them rocketing into the bucket of abandoned Warrior Within "Time Bitch" designs. It pains me to harp on about graphics when I'm such a stout champion of the actual Wii and PS2 systems, but you can't help but feel that this game had one goal to meet; be a passionate, artistically powerful video game interpretation of a literary work whose claim to fame was inarguably its intricate, minute description of each, successively more terrifying circle of hell.
It's not a bad game that meets that goal - which I would've vastly prefered - it's an okay game that doesn't even seem particularly interested in doing so.
