I've been watching some of the leaked beta footage as well. I'm really impressed that they've managed to stay true to the original with all those different path's/options to tackle an objective. I'm really looking forward to go with the stealth/hacking/pistol route and then doing another playthrough by going in with guns blazing!

Looks very dated in the vids, hopefully the gameplay and story holds up?

Dated? You mean graphically?
I would recommend watching some of those 720p footage of the leaked beta. I don't think you'll find it dated after that..

Yeah graphically, it all looks very stiff and dated, and i have seen the vids in HD. But its an Action\RPG so for me its more about interesting gameplay/combat and story, so as long as there great im in.

Found this on Neogaf;
You can pre-order the standard edition of Deus Ex: HR for 28.80$ over at GreenManGaming if you use the voucher FACEB-JULY2-20PEC or GETYO-URWAN-DOUT1:

http://www.greenmangaming.com/games/...an-revoluti...

Since the game is steamworks, you can activate it on steam.
Game was 28,80 Euro.
It'll give you a code on 23rd of august that let's you enter it in steam and download the game...

Pretty good deal if you ask me!

Edit;
Here's the link to the thread on Neogaf;

I'm surprised at the high marks for this game. Seemed too ordinary when I played the leak and was too reminiscent of Mass Effect. Not that ME is bad. Deus Ex just feels overly familiar and nothing new.
I'm sure it's well made technically though.

Well I have played it. That's how it felt. They both are story driven and are in the sci fi genre. Both claim your decisions affect the game in "major" ways. ME might as well be fps just like Deus Ex too considering it's just a shooter now.

It's really not that far off.

I would say ME has better AI though. Unless it's been improved the AI in Deus Ex was trash.

At the end of the day whether my comparison is right or not, the fact still remains that the game just feels like more of the same.

I wish Eidos would have met the standards interms of facial animations as Mass Effect.
From what I seen, it looks like shit (and that nasty head twitching stuff). Looks like waolls came to life and trying to talk to you while in Mass Effect Shepard and the NPCs are actually believable when they talk thanks to the good cinematic angles and animations.

For a game as DX3 that has tons of dialogues and all I expected much more, I guess I am spoiled with Mass Effect.

mass effect is hardly the pinacle of facial animation lol. hell, i found them to be equally robotic and lifeless. they generally just suck in these sort of games. oblivion, fallout, KOTOR, dragon age, mass effect, deus ex. all suffer flapping jaw/dead eyes syndrome. i have no doubt skyrim will be the same. the voice acting is gravy tho, so it's easy to ignore.

Crap graphics I can forgive, but I'm hearing the story is forgettable and the boss battles are crap?, not happy about that at all.

Mass Effect has leaps better facial motion than DX3, by far. And yes, it is the pinnacle of facial animations when it comes to RPGs genre and you can even customize your own face while DX3 is pre-made and fixed, especially with Unreal Engine ME has. The benchmark goes to LA Noir, but thats not in the same genre.
NPCs like Thane, Mordin, Wrex...etc. fantastic animations, I loved seeing Mordin and Thane talk, just great detail and animation.
Even Dragon Age has better facial animations than DX3.

DX3 has garbage animations that makes them look stiff, head twitching like some sickness with bad lip movements, boring lifeless face, you are practically talking to a waoll, makes them non-believeable and boring.
Seeing the dialogues in DX3 just gives no good cinematic believeable conversation compared to Mass Effect.

Yes of course it would, hell the reviews i've been reading gave it 8's and 9's and said the same, but for some it does not matter as the love the combat and multiple path side, for me i like my RPG'S to have a great engaging story that pulls me into the universe and great combat, will still pick it up but my hype levels are falling fast.

i personally havnt been this hyped for a game in a LONG time. in terms of the sort of genre, mass effect 1 was the last game. but that series has gone to shit now so that excitement is pretty much non existent anymore. speaking of which, the story can't possibly be any worse then ME2? surely not.
