(If anyone is wondering how this is on topic, there's a lot of similarities between these two companies, what they used to do and what they're doing right now in terms of demographics and venturing into new areas.... Please buy this excuse.)

Didn't ND design the engine used in both the Jak and R & C games on the PS2? I seem to remember hearing that on a special about ND on G4 a while back. So yeah, it's all relevant(if my memory was true) :)

Naughty Dog were making Jak X at the time, and no doubt doing prep work for Uncharted aswell.

Ah yes, you're right. They've been dodging the new Jak question like the plague though from the interviews I've read(I'm not that up to date so maybe that's changed). So I guess, like you said, if they do plan on handling the next game in the series themselves, it probably won't be for a while. In interviews they've seem to really want to make Drake into a franchise, like Jak/Crash. So with that in mind, either Jak comes really later, or they outsource it. That's just my take on it. Of course if Drake bombs, that could change things :p

As for Ratchet.. you know.. yeah.. I dunno how big Insomniac are, but they had Resistance at release.. and I don't care what people say about that, that game was big and really well produced, so when they threw around the concept of a Ratchet game only a year after (regardless of the fact that development had already started on it) I didn't really think they'd make it.

Yup, which is probably why we didn't get a R & C game in '06! But seriously, Insomniac have some real talent in their ranks.

It did. If you're thinking of wall hugging then that started with MGS, but the cover system and blind fire and dives and stuff were all established in the majorly overlooked namco game.

I personlly think kill switch (exclusive for ps2 in UK, random info FTW!) was awfull and shallow, kinda like a last gen GoW ;)
As for the cover system, to me thats same as wall hugging with firing, so i'll hold MGS down for that award, but to be honest i think there was something before that which i cant think of :(

Driftwood c'est surtout l'absence de démo pour tous qui est incompréhensible. Saros est moins niche que l'était Returnal, et Saros est une production plus ambitieuse que Hades et ne peut pas être vendu 25€. (il y a 2 Heures)
Driftwood @GTB: bien sûr que je préférerais que les jeux soient moins chers, mais j'ai largement dépassé le temps de jeu fait sur Requiem dans Saros et pour moi, il ne vaut pas moins. (il y a 2 Heures)
GTB ...un positionnement tarif un peu plus doux, plus incitatif à se laisser tenter. 80€, pas de démo, ceux qui doutent sauteront moins facilement le pas. (il y a 3 Heures)
