Btw I have the retail build since a few days, and it's as bad as what McErono said. The framerate in 720p or 480i/60 widescreen is just horrible. You'll see by yourself tomorrow with the first 10 minutes.
In 480i/60 4:3 it's acceptable but still far from perfect.
And the gameplay isn't that fun (keep in mind I hate the twisted metal like games though)

About the framerate issues, I've actually read reports that playing the game in 50hz destroys the framerate (for some reason). If the demo unit was running on an SDTV (or LCD with a standard scart/composite connection) that might've been the problem.
Scart can output RGB in 50hz or 60hz.

Yes, whereas LCD with HD input is 60hz only, which would mean it couldn't be the issue.
