Only kinda though. The over the shoulder camera is the only real connection I think. Horror? Maybe a little, but it's an action game.

Gears has less in common with RE than say, Dead Rising. Dead Rising also uses the over the shoulder camera while aiming--but you aim with the left stick (like RE) and can not move in the process.

Pretty unique game though, when it comes right down to it. The way movement and aiming work in Gears is really something. It just works.

Both Gears and San Andreas scored extremely high in Famitsu. A damn shame they're both probably censored to hell.
