2011-10-23 16:50:22 I upgraded to a EVGA GTX570 HD OC this week, replacing my Gainward GTX275.. I get a nice overclock from it that pushes it on par with 580 performance.. I also added 4GB extra DDR3 memory, total is now 8GB.. All to get ready for BF3.. My CPU, a Intel Q9550 is still good enough I think, especially overclocked well over 3Ghz.. Ohw, and I replaced my old 450W PSU aswell for a 600W one (budget Corsair builder does the job fine).. |

2011-10-31 22:36:59 Final opinion, how does this setup sound? |
| fr0sty Since 1895 Days |
2011-11-02 21:16:27 Sounds like a nice setup right there matey. 750 Watt PSU should be ample for all of that gear plus more if you ever fancied upgrading etc. It`ll certainly run 99% of todays applications and games too. It can depend on your resolution that you run your games at, obviously), but even @ 1920 x 1200+ it`ll run smooth enough imo. --- |

2011-11-03 06:55:47 In reply to FireWire (2011-10-20 12:06:01) Posted by FireWire So here we go again :-) At the moment I'm thinking about upgrading to: N570GTX Twin Frozr III Power Edition/OC Cooler: Twin Frozr III GPU: GTX570 Core Clock: 770MHz Memory Clock: 4000MHz Memory Size: 1280 MB Memory Type: GDDR5 Memory Interface: 320 bit Interface: PCI Express x16 (PCI Express 2.1) Output: Dual DVI-I + mini HDMI TDP: 180W After a quick look at the price it's going to set me back about 320 euro's.... I think this will be a significant upgrade from my 2 year old 4870 X2 and will allow me to play most of these new games on 1900x1200 with most advanced options on.. --- |

2011-11-03 07:59:19 I've never even had to adjust the cooler settings off of auto.. I did have a problem with MSI Afterburner (ironic, may be the version I was using).. but nVidia Inspector works fine. |

2011-11-04 01:38:57 In reply to Sephiriah (2011-11-03 00:08:52) If you`re concerned about your external HDD`s dying on you, then simply buy two and update the second one, (back-up), every week or so to keep on top of files etc. Partitioning a HDD shouldn`t cause errors or issues though matey.....not sure what`s going on there :0/ --- |
