Have you played on Xbox live? It comes into rotation practically every other game.. I've played it as many as four times in a row. If you've only started playing recently, you WILL get sick of it unless you're an awesome sniper/LOVE the game mode. It comes up a ton in team slayer.

Im getting very frustrated with that. A map comes up we dont like. Everyone vetos then we get either Valhalla, High Ground or another random map with shotty snipes. I also find myself only playing in games with max 8 players because I cant stand having to push a button to talk.

I don't mind push to talk, but I do mind it when teammates like refuse to use that feature. We'll play team slayer and certain people will chat it up, then we hit a bigger gametype and I don't hear a word from them. They're aware that they need to push the button too they just like.. don't feel like it.

I find it awkward to press the dpad to talk. You have to stop moving or try to use your right thumb which I can't get used to. I wish it were another button.

I use my right thumb.. I don't even think about it anymore. It's not the best way to handle chat but it's not too bad. I do understand why you might not like it though. On PC I sometimes prefer to use TS over Ventrilo just because the voice detection works much better and you don't need to use a push to talk button.. and in vent you can bind it to whatever, including a thumb button on a mouse which is far less obtrusive.

I've actually been pretty fond of chat buttons since Xbox Live was first introduced. The original Ghost Recon on Xbox had you press the Black button (or White?) to talk; it was really nice to not hear everyone sneeze and yell at their moms in the background.

I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually.

Just as an example, I played shotty snipers on the same map three times in a row. Online is kind of broken right now IMO.

Matchmaking is seriously MIA IMO. They need to give you some method to find what games YOU want to play, or give multiple vetos. One just isn't enough.

Ok, you are playing game variant F1 on Z map.
Veto 1, you get changed to X map playing F1 game variant, you don't like.
Veto 2, you get changed to Z map playing game varian F1.....
Veto 3, ................*endless loop*

There really is no need for more vetos, it's obvious which maps and game variants are the most vetoed, and not because they are BAD, but because they just repeat over and over. So they should add some more variables, being able to guess shotty snipers on X Map correctly 80% of the time is really bad.

Yea.. well the veto system supposedly exists to fix that very issue, so lets hope that it goes into effect before too long. People veto for three reasons, and one of them is stupid: 1) They don't like the map (STUPID!) 2) It's shotty snipers, or 3) it's a game they just played.

Hopefully with the data they can gather from observing match made games, they can cut down on the repeats and tone down the damn sniper matches. It's literally absurd how frequently they come up. They need to fix map variety too -- there are some maps that rarely come up, while I keep getting the freak'n beta maps over and over again.

Have you tried switching up gametypes? Certain maps are limited to certain playlists.

Yea I know, but there's still something screwy with how maps are selected. The team slayer play list isn't limited to the beta maps, yet they seem to come up more frequently than any other map for me. They're doing a poor job at randomly selecting maps when I keep getting high ground and snowbound over and over again and only get guardian to come up a few times a night at best. I played a bunch of BTB tonight, and I don't think we played Sandtrap at all.. they should like, index what your party has played recently so that it doesn't come up one right after another.

I've literally played some maps twice in a row. It's like.. playing shotty/snipers over and over again.. that should get a much smaller priority than it has and some maps deserve a big boost. I also don't understand why some maps aren't in the team slayer rotation. There's no good reason not to have Epitath in there, even if it seems small, 8 player games aren't big.

What? No. They put that button there for a reason. And there's also no reason NOT to complain about the current state of the playlists just because there is hope for the future. They need to work on them ASAP because they have some pretty notable flaws.

No he means if the shotty snipers game type is constantly veto'd, it means it's more likely it'll come up again (as the appropriate number of shotty sniper games doesn't get played). Although the veto system is used to refine the playlists, that's not done in real time.

I'm sure they'll fix it soon enough. I'd rather people didn't veto anything that isn't slayer in FFA.

There were over one million people online last night -- the *social slayer* playlist broke over 300k population alone. Pretty amazing stuff.. Halo 3 MP is in full swing.

Now if it were just more stable.. what happed to you last night Phaethon?
