Is it gone now ? I've kinda given up on Halo 3. I really want to like it back its so difficult to play in a game that isnt in matchmaking. I find most of them boring. If I hadn't played as much of Halo 2 as I did I would think 3 was the greatest game in a long time. I would love it if they added more games like Infection or as you keep saying Grift, the ability to play custom games with random people. As it stands now I'm having a far better time with TF2. Once COD4 comes out Halo 3 will be obsolete to me. Im pretty dissapointed that I'm not into it as much as I thought I would be.

Guys i am slightly confused, how am i ment to get the god damn mongoose achivement IF its free for all rankied only thats lone wolves ad they dont supply a map with a mongoose ?

i thought it might of had to be in rumble pit but that aint "rankied" ;)

Highground has some Mongooses as well. Just splatter an enemy against the wall and you should be able to get the achievement.

well its not that halo 3 multiplayer isnt good, its just so many good games out there... and not everyone loves run and gun, cod is a less realistic rainbow six, so that pleases many fans, and alot of people are busy with assasins creed and mass effect.

i personally still preffer GeOW... but thats just me. I feel most games dont punish you enough for dying, and geow does a good job of balancing dying vs waiting for round to end.

Yes, I started playing halo again only because I read this a week ago. Practice. I guess I'll be playing THC all day long, as I liked the BR start gametypes on TS very much (as in Halo 2 it was to be expected). Now if they fixed melee, removed Mauler and nerfed the AR and released some good maps for a change I'd be a happy panda.

This is it: I feel like the ballance was thrown away in favor of a simplyfied gameplay. AR battles tend to last just for a splitsecond it seems, as most of them start at close ranges. A short burst and melee will kill and it's not fun, you could as well have a shotgun. Midrange combat with ARs are not interesting as well, as the one to shoot first will win, since it's practicly impossible to miss your target with it's non-recoiling and non-spreading huge reticule.

Most of the kills did in MM are with the melee. And I don't find it ballanced in any way. It's just way too powerfull. For me Halo 2 was perfect in that aspect. The weaponballance itself was rediculous but the ballance between granades, melee and weapons in general was very good.

Maulers are just for camping. You wouldn't run around with one and rack up kills, since noone would fall for it and back away emediately when he sees one. People tend to stay in certain areas with it and camp since it's a very effective way of getting easy one hit kills if the oponent dosn't expect it.

As soon as my firends heard of BR starts they got back to playing Halo 3 again. We had some intense matches with BR starts, easily the best I've had in Halo 3 so far. BRs need other tactics and more teamplay, as well as constant vigilnes on the whole map and not just a horizon with the radia of your AR.
