Halo 3 Spoilers: Cutscene vids & Story Discussion

I totally suck at taking screenshots, any worth keeping? I thought Acert might like a look at the lighting :)

These are from a level not previously seen. If you aren't up to to the fifth mission and don't want to see a significant story event don't click!

Has anyone heard if there's an added cutscene if you beat it on legendary?

Hey deft. What was the effect of the skull you got? Mine said something about my squad getting a promotion. I have no clue what it did. Though, i haven't played around with it much.

Yes there is. After the cutscene after the credits there is another very short one. It's....interesting :)

The skull I got was the same as yours. If you go to Bungie.net and look at campaign games with scoring on, you'll see the different classes of enemy. I assume it just upranks everyone you face, so Brutes become brute chieftans..etc

i beat it on normal (:P) and still got the extra cutscene after the credit. just gonna have to make sure you dont press anything during the credit (interesting note, tomonobu itagaki's name is on the thanks list :P)

I'm so tempted to watch the legendary ending right now...must resist and beat it myself!

I don't know how anyone could skip the credits (unless you've never played a Bungie game before) The music alone is worth the wait.

I found an easter egg on the first level yesterday. There was a family of inanimate neanderthals huddled up in a cave. One of them was holding a teddy bear. It was very creepy. LMAO

Wow Bungie made the perfect ending for a new Halo game! I think the planet is Onyx! you know from the book! That would be so awesome if Master Chief woke up and found the other Spartans on Onyx! The description in the book and the look of it in that clip really is similar! Oh God I hope we get to play a new Halo game with the other Spartans and Master Chiefs history and Chief eventually finding them!

Loved the ending! Really feel like the story with the Halo rings is closed...................................... AND THEN THEY MAKE THAT CLIP! Damn Bungie stop teasing us and still not finish the story of the Master Chief!! :P:P

Going to play some multiplayer now. Loved the single player!

This is so wrong.

So much plot progression happens in the gameplay this time around, that just watching a couple of cutscenes (including the end one) is just fucking stupid!

lmao ya man my bud that i played through the game with just told me what was wrong. I feel so stupid I should have known better after halo 2 to watch after the credits (I made the same mistake in halo 2:P) o well I guess I'll just re play it this tuesday

lol it shows Cortana in "the clutches" of the Gravemind and the gravemind is all like "for years i have listen through earth and dirt" blah blah blah and he eventually tells her that he will be asking her questions and shes just like "shoot" (as in ask whatever questions you want) and then it ends.

And it turns out that she doesn't really tell him anything important.. in fact.. one might wonder what the point of her being left behind with Gravemind is at all, other than to toy with the player and make them think that something sinister is afoot.. when really, it's just business as usual. A mix of elements of the first two games, straight down to the "plot progression," only this time, they actually end it.

I especially like how they toy with the idea that something has happened to Cortana right up to the point where you rescue her.. and then she's just like, "Naw I was just playin, I'm perfectly fine!"

Well, finished the game on Heroic, and I checked out the legendary extra part, I think thats fair since its like 10 seconds of extra footage. Goddam, I was hoping for a final ending, such as master chief actually dying, would have been sad, but it would have been epic. Does this mean the is going to be yet another Halo? Either Bungie is masochistic and obsessive about this series, Microsoft loves money and has complete control, or Bungie is just teasing us. I hope they reveal which one it is soon. O well, onto multiplayer and co-op legendary.

I think based on its success, MS is going to provide plenty of pressure when it comes to insisting that there is a Halo 4 some time down the line.. and bungie definitely made that possible in how they handled the end.

Gravemind did find out something extremely important about her I think. Right when I got cortana back into my head you heard the Gravemind say something along the lines of "ahhh I've found out her secret" That secret could have a deeper hidden meaning suggesting Cortana knew about the Spartan III program on Onyx and the details of what actually took place there for quite sometime now, but was doing her best not to let the specific information about Onyx leak because she knew how important it would be and couldn't risk the flood going after it.

yeah it was definately lacking in that department. Halo 2 had lot more and seemed to stretch the game out longer. oh well, there's always the next halo

Cortana going Rampant would have been a major twist that could have really spiced up the game in a dramatic way. Finding out that, or that she was infected by the flood from all the way back in 1 and all the Prophet of Truth and storyline angles could be turned on their head... with Cortana in the background manipulating both sides.

Talk about epic story twists that never happened.

Me too.. I think some people are just reading too much into it and honestly.. what does it matter when that little theory would still mean her capture had no large impact on this trilogy anyway.. and really, what does it matter what it might mean in relation to one of the Halo novels, written by a third party? That honestly doesn't make this games story any better.
