For some people, the boxart will be the only chance they have to sell them the game so it's pretty important. It's not brilliant to be honest.

Is that the woman from the iPhone game on the cover?

Hmmm, I kinda thought that any ME2 box art would have had Thane on the cover

Excellent article by Deftangle on the whole 'Permadeath' debate in ME2.

http://couchcampus.com/blog/2009/08/mass-effect-2-...

Although i am not too worried about the whole permadeath situation, i am a little concerned about the prospect of all the interactions with NPC's i had in ME1 having some bearing on how my story will play out in ME2, i say little because i am about to play ME1 again and play it exactly how i want it to play out with all main characters and NPC's, but for those that have played it already (and dont want too or cant play it again) and are happy with there characters story bar maybe one or two moments in the whole game when they decided to be an ass or played uber evil or uber good? to an NPC, it could have a profound affect in ME2 take the Conrad situation for instance, i thinks its all very ambitious stuff from Bioware and personally cant wait to see how it all plays out.

I can't get enough of the games light effect!
The one were the light is so strong when there is like a strong ray in the middle that stretches out, like the one in the images.

I take it you haven't seen the new Star Trek then? Every bloody scene is like that. It's like the director thought we should experience what cataracts are like.

Mass Effect 2 does seem to be doing it with a little more subtlety though.

Nope, haven't seen the movie...yet. But I assume the HD version of it should come around in a few months.

I know ME1 had alot everytime you looked at the sun or different lights, I just love it, even Blade Runner had a bit.
Pretty much quite alot of "space" sci-fi with fancy visuals had it, nice effect.

Decided to replay Mass Effect, this time on PC (just started).
Whats so dissapointing is (yes I mentioned it before, but Bioware needs to know this) the head customization.
I don't like how boring the hair and beard options are. I seen some of the NPCs with say very good beard style, like Joker and I want something like that for my character, but there is non.
And hair styles, well, obviously a bit longer than the typical buzzcuts.

They should look at how Fallout 3 has it, they have tons of customization, obviously some are just out of "normal", but they only the normal ones, those are good to be in ME2.
I hope they start talking and showing something if they have redesigns or added new stuff to customization.

Yep, they've stated many times that it was one of the main things they addressed in Mass Effect 2. They pointed out how the elevator system did all the work they put into building a lot of the levels no justice, and so with Mass Effect 2, they wanted to properly capture the feeling of traveling high up or traveling way down via an elevator. They've made it more cinematic.

I dont understand, what about the elevators? I played ME1 7 times and even didnt care about elevators. It was just like semi-intreactive loading screen and didnt take too long. May be you have disk problems and they runs so slow?

or maybe they actually run slow but you just dont have a problem with waiting that long.

my god they where a pain in the ass. yes the short exchange of dialogue between your party members was interesting, but that only made up about 1/5 of the entire elevator ride. it was rediculous.

The elevators i found to be a minor annoyance, as the game was so great, but as ops said the times have been shortend to a mere few seconds in ME2.

Pfft, people are so impatient nowadays. Do you guys complain this much in real life when you're in an elevator?

Oh, come on. Take the joke. Take it!
