No trailer i'm afraid, its a GDC lecture showing the new Bioware ME2 level design process, and its not open to the press only dev's are invited, but heres to hoping some screens/footage or new game info arrives from or around it.

EDIT:

Just realized that Dragon Age releases in March, Bioware/EA could then switch focus to ME2??

Mass Effect was one of my favourite games of all time, The only games besides Halo 1/2/3 that I have completed more than once. I cannot wait to get my hands on this.

I hope so i think 2yrs is more than enough time to get us a sequel, they have the core assets in place already so the process should be much smoother and refined, the only way i can see it being slowed down is if it has now gone multiplatform which could be the case? but if Epic can do it i have no doubt Bioware can too.

i loved mass effects atmosphere, conversations and story. and i loved the quests and main quest.........

but please bioware,

No more shitty empty planet. land. find wrekage. press A. done. quests please. i must have done about 5 of those expecting something more intresting to happen each time, but it was utter waste of time.

get rid of the rover. that fucking thing. it would be like going on an adventure through a jungle in a moster truck. thats not an adventure. it takes away so much and gives very little. or at least only use it wisely, rather then every planet you land on.

some more monsters other then that one thing that comes out the ground please.

NO MORE BUNKERS. i cant believe when you have the chance to make a story, using as much imagination you want, you choose to have these fucking bunkers on planets and then fill them with crates. are you taking the piss?!?!?! how unimaginative.

but other then that you are great. i'll look forward to mass effect 2. hopefully it wont be too tied with the mass effect 1 story because to be honest i cant remember it at all. just make mass effect 2 feel as good as the first time i played knights of the old republic and i'll be happy

Both GOW and ME were first generation titles that were in development even when the 360 was still in alpha and beta kit modes. UE3 was also being released in pre-launch pieces.

Having more time to thoughtfully plan out levels and apply engine improvements will produce a better ME2.

And I have no doubts that we will get a Fall/Holiday 09 release..........IF we aren't waiting around for a certain console's version to be released at the same time the 360 version is due.

Here's to hoping it gets released this year, the Bioware/Mass Effect forum mod has confirmed we will be getting an official announcement on Mass Effect 2 at an event this year but he has not said which one.

I cant belive i have missed playing this game at launch! what a game, put in a solid 7hrs last night and just arrived at the citadel and on my first quest, i have to say the part when you first arrive at the citadel had me in awe, just amazing! and the citadel is a joy to explore. this conversation mechanic is just superb, it pulls you into the story so well, i really like ashley she is one sassy chick :)

The bunkers and warehouses make a lot of sense in most of the cases they are used. Modular pre-fabricated habitats would be the domicile of choice for criminals/scientists/cultists on the largely uninhabited planets you find them on. It ain't about comfort but survival.

I agree that more variety is needed though, maybe the company making them can offer a deluxe model! :P

i just want them to be different shapes and colours tbh. every single one was identical in shape and layout. only some had crates in, other where full blown empty. if they dont make the planets worth exploring i'd rather they just not be in there at all and get a full blown "story" planet instead.

im hoping earth is explorable this time round.

One of the biggest questions that came out of EA’s acquisition of Bioware in late 2007 was the exclusivity of the Mass Effect trilogy. Would the games remain on the 360 and PC or would Sony get a piece of the pie as well?

A fairly reliable source close to Electronic Arts tells us that the sequel (and subsequent iterations) will be available the PlayStation 3 as well as the Xbox 360 and PC. According to our source, EA decided to make the series multiplatform mostly due to the “the economic outlook”.

Our source claims that because of the current state of the economy, Electronic Arts is looking to squeeze as much money from its portfolio of games as it possibly can. Obviously, making Mass Effect 2 and 3 multiplatform would increase their sales, as the game would be available to more people.

But what about the PS3 owners who missed the first game? Our source says it is “likely” EA will release a PlayStation 3 port of the original Mass Effect, debuting sometime in mid-2009. Similar to Take-Two’s decision to make a Bioshock port on the PS3, this port would introduce PS3 owners to the series and give EA almost risk-free profit from its sales.

The official announcement will “take place at GDC” (which starts March 23), according to our source. Of course, take this with a grain of salt till then.

one of the best stories in a game EVER, right next to MGS imo.
