Well i finally completed it.. short compared to first

Running is now irratating due to if you run past any object shepard desides he wants to stop a momment to make love to the wall.

Mirranda is fugly as hell, but then again so was ashley so least thats even :)

At one point while talking to a certain guy his head broke off and his body spun round, was like the exorcist, i would of filmed it but i was to busy crying of laughter, was awesome :)

But before i went to do the the final bit i thought i would do the side quests, as soon as i started ...well i cant be arsed to find the spoiler tags so i wont put names, it was to do with the court case, i started warming to the game, i would not say its better than the first.
In most areas the game has took 2 steps forward but in other areas (stats weopens depth) it feels like they took two steps back

Offworlds i wanted fixing, not getting rid of entirely, and to think bioware thought scanning was better....ewww, its like some dodgy WoW rep grind.. yes me been me depleted 2/3 of the galaxy of all the usable mineral to upgrade my gun...which i thought was humorous (gotta get me a spell checker)

Story 9/10 (once it gets rolling would of been 10 but that intro is still meh)
graphics 8/10
gameplay 8/10
Me feeling a complete tit for not giving it a chance before raging war on it 7/10

For me the pluses far outweigh the negatives, the game feels so much more improved and enjoyable, locations are amazing and the story/side missions are so cinematic and engrossing to play, the characters are also so much better and more fleshed out and thats coming from someone that loved the characters ME1, the combat is also way more smooth and fun to play, Mass Effect will never be a Dragon Age or Fallout as it was never designed to be, and that's what sets it apart for me, its has created its own Action/Shooter/RPG genre and a brilliant one at that!, and i for one wish for many many more.
Got to agree with you there, it just does so many things right!, i can see why there are so many people/pro's raving about it :)

Good to hear its number 1 in France and 2 weeks at number 1 in the UK, i really hope it sells double what the first did as it really deserve it!

trying to romance 3 women at the same time, but i think i have fucked up with Jack?, it was also really good to see Wrex again i miss that old boy :)

On Tuesday February 09 2010 Mass Effect 2 fans will be able to get the new Cerberus Assault Armor and M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun DLC fof free through the Cerberus network. It should be available for all fans, both on PC and Xbox 360 at 12:00pm Mountain Standard Time.

Cerberus Assault Armor
Cerberus assault armor is designed for shock troops, turn the tide of battle against creatures or forces that would decimate normal soldiers.
Increases heavy weapon ammo capacity by +10%
Increases shields by +10%
Increases health by +10%

M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun
The M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun is a longer-range shotgun with armor-piercing loads. This design also violates several intergalactic weapons treaties, so the M-22a is not distributed to militaries.

You can learn more about the Cerberus Assault Armor in a Arsenal update with screenshots of the armor in action here: http://masseffect.bioware.com/universe/arsenal/arm...

This is the next piece (or pieces since you get 2 things) of Downloadable contant coming for fans of Mass Effect 2. We still have more DLC on the way, such as the mentioned Hammerhead and other rumors, and we'll have more information on more DLC in the future. Stay tuned. /images/forum/emoticons/smile.png

I don't really like the look of any of these alt. armor to be honest. I thought ME1 had much sleeker designs to the different armor types.

The following video is a bit spoilery, watch on your own risk and only watch if you can stomach Shepard doing things you don't want him to do. ;)

I love the amount of work Bioware put into this. Most of the things I've seen on Youtube I've never seen in my play through, including the last video. I can only repeat myself and the sentiment of what Nietzsche explained. The game is an incredibly personal experience, each play through is a unique story because there are so many variables. I hope this is a trend for the future of video gaming. This sort of storytelling is what sets a game apart from film (or gamey film like MW2). It is its biggest strength and it's far more effective vehicle for storytelling than anything film can come up with.

Didnt think what i said was a spoiler either, thats why i didnt tag it, its just a button, it changes nothing and has no impact on anything.
Guys, what you might think is or isn't a spoiler isn't the same for everyone else. Some people might have literally only watched the teaser trailer so talking about the end of the game, the nature of the final mission or the state of Shepard & Crew at the end of it can be spoilerish for some. Adding a spoiler tag can prevent ruining someones day.

The fact that its mentioned right from the intro, heck it even mentions it ON THE BACK OF THE BOX.
I seriously think the whole spoiler thing has gotten out of hand, both the definition and its relevance within threads based on specific games. Generally I think spoilers are major plot points, things that cannot be known in advance, not by glancing at the achievement list, again, it mentions the final mission in there or by looking at the trailer for the game.
Plus as mentioned above, this is a thread for talking about the game, logic kinda infuses the notion that it may not be wise visiting said thread, especially in the week after launch for fear of people casually discussing the game, it's generally the way most forums work with spoilers out in the open.

Trying to force people to spoiler tag everything, from mentioning the controls to the achievement list is just gonna drive people away from discussing the game at all cause they cant be bothered tagging everything, having to highlight everything they want to read etc.

Nobody's trying to force anyone to do anything.

It's a simple request.

Sorry, force was a little too strong a word, but repeatedly request and restrospectively "censor" is almost the same. Just let the thread take its own life, maybe threads would last a bit longer after the release of games with people openly talking about it rather than being afraid of spoiling anything for anyone. I know I refrain from posting anything rather than have to go back through it and spoiler tag it or end up accidentally spoiling something.

Anyway, new DLC TODAY apparently. http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/08/new-mass-effect-...

I wasn't starting a debate on the subject. Not everybody has 30+ hours to smash through the game in one week and one poster did consider that a spoiler.

We're just asking for a bit of consideration. It's not hard.

Thats fair does i would not post one myself.

As for the spoiler tags, i think you should have them on the "create post" part due to most (like me) cant be arsed to find what the tags are and it would be nice if it was there right in our face when creating a post.

Just finished it yesterday, 34 hours and did just about everything, I cant wait to start a new career being 100% renegade! Its going to be incredible!!

I have to say, as amazing as this game is really is, I'm undecided as to whether its better than ME1. I cant help but feel that ME1 had more memorable defining moments, apart from The mission with Jack and the last mission, I just didn't get that same feeling with ME2. I also thought the story was driven better in ME1 and the old characters were better. It seems like the decisions you make in ME1 have a bigger impact on the future. However, the combat in ME2 is a million times better and the conversation system is almost flawless, the graphics are stunning and some of the worlds they have created are just mind blowing.

I'd say both games are just about equal overall, easily the best games i've ever played besides Halo.

Not for me, i'm loving the characters more this time around than before, the story i'm loving just as much as the first, and the locations def blow ME1 out the water for me. But ME1 was a brilliant game even with all its tech faults and crappy side missions.

Mordin is so funny, loved the part were he warned me about catching STD's from Miranda, and how he can teach me some new moves :)

Playin through on insanity, have died multiple times in one area and am using a helluva lot more medigel. Also, the AI really comes into question in this mode, more often than not your squad spazzes out, fails to adheare to walls, ignores orders and runs straight at the enemy. I find myself fighting my own squad issues than facing the enemy. I know the mode is meant to be difficult, but it is more because it is cheap, with enemies charging at you with so much health it takes 3 or 4 full clips with incendiary ammo to take em out, along with your squad gettin killed more often than not.
