Proper control support FTW :)
But ftw at no Mass Effect 1 though, thats a bad move. MAss Effect isnt like some dumb FPS with no story, this game is all about the story.
They can't play it at all, and the best hope was a multiplatform, and EA did this, with ME2.
ME is a story based game, and it is a trilogy. I want to know how they are going to make the PS3 owners who never had the chance of playing the first one to know the story.
One comment I saw was to making the first story as a cutscene. Like a big intro of what happened in ME1, but still, its not good.
Its about your character's experience could be different from the "default" BioWare would do and transfering the data from ME1 to ME2.
Besides, I have said this many times, the most obvious reason why I would buy a 360 was Mass Effect (and Ninja Gaiden and that went multipatform), and I played ME1 so thats good enough.
But with ME2 I didnt like the experience on PC, soley for the keyboard/mouse is something I hate using when playing.
I also thought ME2 was better than ME1 in the gameplay department. Was more action based but had its RPG elements in there, much better classes with awesome abilities...etc. not saying ME1 was bad, but IMO gameplaywise, ME2 is better and that is important to me, more polished and fleshed out.
Of course the story elements are a problem and the decisions from ME1 won't carry over. On the other hand, they didn't impact ME2 much at all. An ME1 port just seems unreasonable, especially with the discrepancy in quality between the two games.
Its like watching LOTR2 and 3 and forget LOTR1 all together. Its called a trilogy for a reason. You follow it as it should be followed.
For me, I am okay with it considering I had a 360 by the time ME1 came out, but a shame to those that werent lucky.
EA wheres my Shadow Broker Port damn it!!
** Yes We CAN!! **
Currently playing: Bad Company 2(PC), Uncharted 2(PS3), Dead Space (PS3)
If ME1 on 360 and PC is the same, MS published the 360 version and EA the PC version, doesnt EA have the right to publish ME1 on PS3 then?
Tweak the game a abit add a extra title and give it to PS3.

It really just effs everyone up the arse really. Maximum arse effage. First you build a rabid fanbase on one system, making owners of the other system defensive and "I don't care about that game anyway!"-y. Then you screw the rabid fanbase over - sorta like a fuck you for being fans move really - and give it to a completely confused audience as to whether draw the "HAA, We got the better version!" fanboy arse card or the "I still don't want your stinking ninja bullshit!" and crying themselves to sleep because it looks kinda awesome card. Meanwhile, those old rabid fans swear to murder someone until there's a brand new sequel coming out and they SWEAR ON THEIR MOTHERS' GRAVES that it'll stay exclusive, honest! While the team are all orgy crossing their fingers behind their backs.
Everyone loses!
Except a tiny percentage that can transistion from not caring about stupid ninjas to suddenly caring about stupid ninjas when they're on the Right(TM) platform. And let's face it, ALL of the aforementioned people hate one of those.

Mass Effect 1, first published by Microsoft in 2007, will remain exclusive to Xbox 360.
"And the original Mass Effect is absolutely an Xbox 360 exclusive, making Xbox 360 the only place to get the full Mass Effect experience,"
As someone pointed out, going with default Shepard in 2 means a basket of smelly underwear is dropped in your lap as far as career choices go, but that could easily be remedied by a slightly more elaborate "quiz" at the start, dictating in fittingly broad strokes the choices of any tangible consequence from the first game.
The bigger loss is that they're kinda wildly different games in a whole slew of ways, and they're missing out on ME1 stuff in a more gamey regard. Story wise I honestly reckon it's a bit of a non issue.

Its all good, I know one thing...I will buy Mass Effect 2.
It's seems that Microsoft really was more attached to the ME franchise than I originally first thought. This goes all the way back to Peter Moore, he really dropped the ball on alot of things in 2007. He should have locked up THIS franchise instead of a Too Human Trilogy with Silicon Knights that everyone recognizes is a franchise that would need a God-like resurrection to become viable again. Peter was also in charge during the odd negotiations that created the STILL indiscernable developer-publishing arrangement between Microsoft and Bungie.
I own both consoles, but if I were a PS3-only owner, I'm not sure jumping into a game trilogy at the mid-point would be very appealing to me. I guess I say this because I know how much ME1 sets the framework for the story in ME2. The PS3-only gamers needs to experience two Mass Effect 1 moments to be completely drawn into the saga properly. One is the first verbal confrontation with Sovereign/Nazara on Virmire, and the second is the solemn and revealing moment on Ilos where Vigil explains the cycle of destruction that Reapers both promote and and harvest through their technology.
Those are both watershed moments that are crucial to grasping the enormous threat the Reapers pose to all organic life. I'm afraid ME's weaker story and lack of a real villain may not be strong enough to carry the saga for PS3 gamers by itself. They NEED ME1.
Mass Effect has a strong and compelling story and skipping the first one to ME2 is not a good idea for sure.
They could make some sort of a PS3 install story thing. I am sure we have to install the game data for faster loading...etc. so while it installs they can do something like DMC4 and NGS2.
Tell the story though cutscenes, or images with audio or text with images.
Any way of telling the original story of ME1 for ME2 is crucial.
BioWare boss Ray Muzyka, speaking in Cologne today, has told VG247 that the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 is to include introductory content to provide a “seamless introduction” to the IP’s universe, as well as confirming the inclusion of DLC and access to the Cerburus Network.
While confirming the inclusion of an introductory segment for the PS3 SKU, Muzyka was cagey on specifics, refusing to confirm whether or not new gameplay is to be included over the 360 and PS3 version.
“We’re making sure there’s a really seamless introduction to the world of Mass Effect, for players that haven’t experienced it before,” he said.
“So even though it’s Mass Effect 2 specifically, we’re making sured there’s a nice introduction experience, that provides the back-story and the things that have happened up to that point in the universe, and makes it a really seamless introduction.”
He added: “We haven’t revealed what that is yet. It’ll be something that provides a good introduction and provides a lot of the back-story and introduces you well to the story-arc, and kind of makes you feel like you’re part of it all. And then you can jump right into the action in Mass Effect 2.”

As I expected.
Sigma REMOVED some stuff from NG Black and added small stuff like dual sword and shitty Rachel, thats it. And Survival Mode which is pretty much Mission Mode, thats it.
When Ray said "as well as confirming the inclusion of DLC and access to the Cerburus Network." do they mean they are adding the already released DLC 360 version on the PS3 disc? if so, then yay...though I just want Kasumi :P
