Haven't seen Predators( want to, but I HATED the AvP movies), but I remember loving P2- not as a "masterpiece", but as a fun and well made movie. It's been a couple years though. Personally, I don't WANT every movie to be a "masterpiece"...
Well predators IS better than AvP, but that's not saying much.

Saw The Expendables, very awesome movie, not much story than generic stuff, but the action scenes was very well made.

Explosions, guns, knifes, hand to hand combat, stunts, gore, blood, famous old action heroes all-in-one!

I loved Jason Statham in this movie, he was awesome with the knife kills!

The Expendables was a men kind of movie. No story to speak of, lots of blood and lots of cool kills. Some well choreographed action scenes and a lot of brainless one liners. I loved it.

I think The Expendables meant more than just a bunch of guys doing a cheesy action movie, as it's also a bit of a reflection on all of those old movies and the relevance of the genre, not to mention on Stallone as an actor. The whole has-been theme. It's not super deep in any sense, but i think there's a little more thought behind it than just shooting big guns.

While I understand how you might find irony in Megido's post, and I certainly don't agree with him about Duke Nukem, I think you guys are missing the point. Duke is at best satire, and at worst, parody. They're both an homage to the action genre, but, I think what Megido is saying is that The Expendables is reflective, not satirical. There's not really much "lol" here.

I don't know...i kind of like the premise. The movie is creepy as all fuck up until about the one hour mark and then the incompetence of the creators shows itself. The ending is also just a huge flip of the bird to the audience. Really too bad, the movie should have been a lot better, but the "less is more" approach is something that very few directors of horror movies seem to grasp.

I imagine that if they downplayed the gollum-attacks a little and focused more on the group dynamic and let them die because of panic, carelessness and mistrust induced by the freaks rather than being chewed on by said baddies, that would have been a whole lot more effectfull and interesting. Like said, the first hour works great and then it goes down the shitter completely for me.

Also yes, Ghostbusters is great.

Well, to be fair, I saw it once when it was in theatres, so I may be remembering it fondly in its favour. And while I did like it at the time, I don't have much of an urge to rewatch it anytime soon.

Also, Ghostbusters is the shit. Ghostbusters 2 even.

The Marshmallow Man scene ALWAYS makes me want to eat marshmallows

I actually enjoyed The Descent as well, ending was bad though I agree. I also agree with Ron, I think Hostel, Saw, and all that shit was coming out at the time. It was nice and refreshing.


I'll probably watch Ghostbusters 2 tonight, it's good but I never liked the main villain from the painting much. After a giant Marshmallow man and the bad ass androgynous girl in tights at the gates of another dimension, it's a bit of a letdown

    Driftwood @Blackninja: je doute qu'ils posent modifier ce genre de choses, car le jeu original n'était pas construit sur de telles mécaniques. Avec un remake, tu dois penser aussi aux fans de la première heure. (il y a 1 Heure)
